The Genesis Invitational is paying a heartfelt tribute to Tiger Woods’s late mother, Kultida Woods, this week. As TWLEGION shared on X, the 7th hole at Torrey Pines will feature a white pin flag—a meaningful symbol in Buddhist culture—to honor her memory.
This gesture comes just days after Woods’s tech-driven league, TGL, also honored his mother following her passing on February 4.
The 15-time major champion announced the heartbreaking news on social media but did not disclose the cause of death. For those who followed his career closely, Kultida was always there—his biggest supporter through every high and low.

TGL and its parent company, Tomorrow Sports, made sure to recognize her impact before the Boston Common Golf vs. Los Angeles Golf Club match. As seen in a video shared by NUCLR Golf, ESPN’s Matt Barrie described the scene at SoFi Stadium, calling Kultida a “towering figure” in Woods’ life.
Now, the Genesis Invitational is continuing that remembrance at one of the most iconic stops on the PGA Tour. Torrey Pines holds a special place in his career, he won multiple times here, including his iconic 2008 U.S. Open victory. And with this gesture, the tournament is making sure Kultida’s influence is felt once again on the course.
For Woods, this has undoubtedly been a tough time. But with the golf world rallying behind him, these gestures show the immense respect for Kultida and the deep mark she left on her son’s legendary career.
This is a developing story…
