Who Are the Parents of Kade Anderson? Meet Eric and Karena Anderson

The LSU Tigers won CWS 2025, but Kade Anderson’s breakout arm stole the show. This 6’2″ left-handed sophomore in the LSU rotation has had a journey full of grit, from his time at St. Paul’s High School. He had an incredible 212 strikeouts and a low 0.22 ERA despite his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

And this year at LSU, he has been nothing but remarkable. With a 12-1 record, 180 strikeouts, and a brilliant 3.18 ERA, he was awarded the first Baseball America College Pitcher of the Year for 2025. And now Kade Anderson is making his way as one of the top MLB draft picks of this year.

For Anderson, it was always about the team. After his CWS finals shutout, he commented, “It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done… putting the team in a position to win.” A humble team player with a great value system that comes from his parents, who are just “so proud of him.”

Eric and Karena Anderson aren’t just his proud parents, but they are the anchors of Kade Anderson’s career. They live in Madisonville, Louisiana, and have watched him go from backyard softball to star pitcher in Omaha. Kade’s work ethic comes from his father, a community-driven coach with a lifetime of passion, who has shaped many young athletes.

After Kade’s pitching, his dad got dozens of messages. “I coached at seven, eight years old. They’re sending me messages, just unbelievable.”

And his mom, Karena Anderson, can be heard cheering loudest from the stands.

On the night of the final, everyone saw the emotional reunion. Cameras were trained on them as Kade finished his historic shutout and ran across the field to hug them. After all, as she summed up, “This is what we have always worked for.”

What nationality are Kade Anderson’s parents? Everything you need to know

Eric and Karena Anderson are both Americans who live in close-knit communities in Louisiana. Kade grew up in a Southern home with Sunday church, Friday night lights, and community cookouts. He attended Covington’s St. Paul’s High School and won academic and athletic distinctions. He made the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2024 at LSU.

After Kade’s amazing performance in the College World Series, Madisonville came together strongly around his family. When the Andersons came home from Omaha, their neighbors put up “Welcome Home Andersons” and “LSU National Champs Kade #32” signs on their lawns to greet them.

The outpouring of pride shows how connected the Andersons are to their town. They are local heroes that everyone feels a part of because of years of relationship and shared triumphs.

How is Kade Anderson’s relationship with his parents

When Kade talks about his mom, you can tell how much he loves and appreciates her. He shared in a recent interview that she is “super supportive” and that he really “appreciates what she does for me.” And when he lifted that trophy, Karena couldn’t “believe that it would happen.” Those words echo the years of dedication it took.

Do you know that when he was in high school, he refused to visit Omaha as a fan? Because he wanted to go there as a player himself. But it was his father who took him in his senior year, 2023. He mentioned, “We got into the spirit…when we—Thursday night we beat Wake Forest—we were all jacked up, so we said let’s get the flights…and we came…we missed the final game but it was an awesome experience.”

From cheering every pitch to nurturing Kade’s confidence – everything’s paying off. Now, he is expected to be picked by the Nationals on draft day.
