“Nothing in life is promised except death” – Kanye West, 47th Annual Grammy Awards, 2005.
But the promises we keep in memory of the dead make them live longer. The world of golf received the heartbreaking news of the GOAT’s mother, Kultida Woods passing a few days ago. Tiger Woods has since been a shell of himself, not being able to muster the courage to pursue golf. He tried to show a brave face by confirming his participation in the 2025 Genesis Invitational. But soon announced his withdrawal as he couldn’t cope with the unending sadness.
But now it seems that Woods is coming back to the course; indoor. But that too is because of the promise he made to his mother. TWLEGION shared a tweet confirming the squad of the next TGL match. Jupiter Links GC will go up against the New York GC on February 17, 2025, at 7 PM (EST). Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner will be accompanied by Tiger Woods in the arena for the match.
And there is no question that Woods would be in a competitive mode. After all, he did promise Kultida Woods that he was going to play well in TGL a couple of weeks ago. Whatever the reason, it is great to see the 82x PGAT winner back in action, even if it’s just a distraction.
