February 2 will forever be the NBA’s official day of shock. And, one thing that the basketball verse has yet to move on from is the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade. Two weeks later, the basketball world is still dizzy. Doncic in Purple and Gold? AD a Maverick? No way. It still feels unreal—like a glitch in the system. Even Victor Wembanyama is struggling to process it. But Dallas? Oh, they really feel it.
Dallas erupted when Luka landed in LA. Fans hit the streets, demanding GM Nico Harrison’s removal from the franchise. Protests, chants, chaos—yet, nothing changed. But the ‘Support Luka’ movement? Oh, it was massive. Even ahead of his All-Star debut, the French alien couldn’t ignore it.
Sharing his thoughts to the media, Wembanyama stated: “I’ve watched games of both Lakers and Mavs ever since it happened. But what I remember from it, what really strikes me, is how the Mavs fans are hurting. How they feel. It’s really something that I think was a really strong emotion.”
Asked Victor Wembanyama about the Luka-AD trade and the outlook of this new version of the #Mavs given they’re in the same division as the #Spurs:

Isn’t it natural for the Mavericks fans to feel the pain of their favorite boy leaving, on a random Saturday? Besides, Victor Wembanyama seems to be feeling their pain. Maybe he is keeping himself in their shoe and imagining the situation, or maybe he’s keeping himself in Luka’s position. Oh, it’s hurtful either way!
Despite losing his debut game vs. the Dallas Mavericks in 2023, Victor Wembanyama doesn’t have an ounce of distaste for Luka or the Mavericks. Instead, he sympathizes with them and the fans.
This is a developing story…
