Day 7 of TGL was a one-sided affair. New York Golf Club ousted Tiger Woods and his Jupiter Links Golf Club with a score of 10-3. Rickie Fowler’s team registered their first victory in the tech-based league. A good moment for NYGC, but a rather embarrassing one for the other team. This was supposed to be an emotional comeback for Woods. The one after his mum unexpectedly passed on February 4.
For the Big Cat, the venue is special, because this was the last place, his mom Kutilda Woods saw him playing golf. “Hi, Mom!” Woods had shouted excitedly to Tida during the encounter against Boston Common Golf. “I’m not going to s**k tonight!”
Coming to the SoFi arena, knowing his beloved mom wasn’t there in the stands was hard, and emotional. Woods recalled having her by his side in the post-match presser, “Well, I think that she really enjoyed watching me play. It was awesome to have her in the stands and watching us play and having the kids here and family and friends. I had a hard time driving down here. I hadn’t hit a golf ball since I played with the President and just put everything away and shut it off. I had a really hard time getting here and then reliving all the moments that we’ve had, my mom, how excited she was to have Charlie drive her here. So those are some great moments and great memories. It’s been a hard process.”
This is a developing story..
