Victim of Online Hate, Jordan Chiles Sends Powerful Message to the Critics Constantly Judging Her

Jordan Chiles has been in the public eye since the Paris Olympics. After she was stripped off her bronze medal and a long-drawn controversy, the gymnast was subject to a plethora of questions. She chose to stay silent on some, and clapped back at others. But 2025 is clearly when she’s clearly adapting to newer ways. The gymnast has now sent a strong message to her critics.

On February 20th, Jordan Chiles got featured on the Time Magazine Women of the Year list, as one of the 13 honorees. When she sat down for an interview with A’ja Wilson, another one who got her own cover besides Chiles, the Vancouver gymnast opened up on navigating the journey of being herself on social media. She said, “If I had the choice, I wouldn’t share anything about my life. But then I wouldn’t be able to give the younger generation something to look at.”

While the fact that there were people before her who walked for them to be able to run inspires her great, Jordan Chiles strongly believes in a formula. And she claps back at the critics with it. “How I think of it is, if you’re gonna sit there and critique somebody, try to get underneath their skin, then it’s something that’s inside of you that you’re not OK with,” she says.
