Amid all the rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ move to the Steelers and the theatrics involved in it, some flashy details have come out of his personal life. Rodgers, who has always tried to maintain a calm and composed public image, has been accused of emotional abuse by his Ex-girlfriend, Danica Patrick. She made some sensational claims about her past relationship with the future Hall of Fame QB. One that could potentially degrade the public persona Rodgers stands by.
Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was in a relationship with fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. from 2012 to 2017. But once her five-year-long relationship came to an end, Patrick found love again in Rodgers. The two had initially met in 2012 at the ESPY Awards. However, their romance started taking flight in January 2018, when the two publicly announced their relationship. They even made their red-carpet debut in that year’s ESPY awards. And things only looked lovey-dovey for the couple as they reportedly bought a home together in Malibu a year later.
But once 2020 came around, their relationship didn’t last. Even after living in their beautiful house in Malibu for the first few months in 2020, the couple chose to split after just dating for two years. At that time, it came as a massive surprise given the two were even possibly thinking about getting married. Back in 2019, Patrick even joked about a future proposal from Rodgers on The Jenny McCarthy Show, saying, “Um, tomorrow—wait, no, what?” However, sadly, the pair had to go their separate ways.
And since their breakup 5 years ago, Patrick finally chose to open up about how she felt after Rodgers left her. When asked what her most painful experience was in an appearance on the Sage Steele Show, Patrick said, “The breakup with Aaron in 2020.” She then proceeded to add some murky details on how their relationship was actually behind the scenes. “It felt like it was my life. So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life. And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.”
Patrick also claims that Rodgers left a trail of blood after the two chose to split up. “Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we..there’s been enough out there.” Now, before wrapping up her thoughts, Patrick wanted to say out loud one positive thing she got after breaking up with Rodgers. “It gave me the greatest gift, which is myself. It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”
While Patrick seems to be in a better place right now emotionally, Rodgers has also moved on in his dating life.

After breaking up with Patrick, A-Rod has had multiple relationships. He went on to date Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley sometime during the COVID-19 pandemic. The two even announced their engagement plans in 2021 but decided to call it off soon after. Then, in April 2022, the pair broke up. And just like that, Rodgers was again single. Briefly, Rodgers was also linked with the Milwaukee Bucks owner, Wes Edens’ daughter, Mallory Edens. However, nothing concrete came out of their rumored romance.
Since those flings in Rodgers’ dating life, the former Jets QB claims he is in a serious relationship right now. Last month, in an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers revealed, “I’m in a different phase of my life. I’m 41 years old. I’m in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention.” This came after Rodgers had already revealed he now has a new girlfriend named Brittani. In a Christmas episode of the same show, Rodgers casually dropped the name of his new love. “There was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hasn’t showed up yet.”
When McAfee came to know this huge revelation, he pressed Rodgers to give more information. However, Rodgers only said he is “in love” with his new girlfriend, claiming “it’s a good feeling.” Seeing how Rodgers has found new love probably means both Patrick and he are happy with their respective lives. And the hope is that it will remain the same in the future.
