Adam Silver’s Latest Decision Has Nuggets Community Enraged as Nikola Jokic & Co Risk Game 7 Loss

The Nuggets have been through the most excruciating few weeks. And now it all comes down to this: one final showdown between the MVP finalists Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Last game, Jokic managed 29 points and 14 rebounds and let the Nuggets live another day, with a 119-107 win. But the fight isn’t over just yet.

There’s no doubt that Jokic is the driving force behind the Nuggets. But Game 7 will be decided by other players just as much. The MVP said, “So, I think it’s interesting to watch. I think the details: defense, box out, turnovers, that’s gonna probably decide the winner.” There is little doubt that the Nuggets will be under a lot of pressure, especially as Game 7 will be played at Paycom.

Still, Adelman seems confident.  “I know I’ve got a group of guys that have been in a lot of Game 7s, seen a lot of things, so we’re excited for the opportunity”.

However, even as the roster enjoys two days of rest, another development has fans petrified. According to reports, Adam Silver has declared the crew of Scott Foster, Josh Tiven, James Williams, and Pat Fraher as referees of Game 7.

In game 2, Jokic was fouled out by the same set of officials, as his six personal fouls ended up costing Denver the game. So, expectedly, fans are skeptical and cautious and had a range of responses to share.

NBA fans express worry for Denver pre-Game 7

As the Denver Nuggets find themselves in a do-or-die situation, Adam Silver has seemingly thrown a spanner in the works. With the situation already demanding a lot, Denver finds itself under some extra pressure. A fan chose the opportunity to remind others of how Game 2 had gone, with the referees seemingly giving a range of dubious decisions against Jokic and company.

Another fan had an interesting take, alleging that “All of them hate Jokic. Nice“. Well, the emotions are understandable, but “hate” is a little too far. Similarly, another fan was a bit more worried about Ref Scott’s appearance in OKC games, “Why Scott only ref games in OKC. Game 2 was crazyyy. Y’all got it!”

Clearly, a number of users believe that the Nuggets have all to do against an OKC side that has already proven they will go down to the wire. Still, the hate for Ref Foster is also quite frightening, with some questioning the legitimacy of his presence on the court. One said, “Why does Foster have a job? Nobody wants him on the court”.

Likewise, another user said, “Mark it as an L today”. Maybe it is too early to jump to conclusions just yet. While it has been challenging and quite grueling, the Nuggets have given enough reasons to their fans to be hopeful.

Meanwhile, Jokic himself seems to be feeling a little better about his foul numbers. “I think this is the first time we didn’t have offensive fouls in the series. That’s helpful,” he had said after Game 6. So, seems like Denver is more focused on improving their game and learning from their mistakes, and will not be too chaffed about the officials.

Still, whether they will keep their composure in Game 7 is something only time shall reveal.
