After Terence Crawford Fight Confirmation, Canelo Alvarez Receives Warning From Another Rival

Finally, what most expected happened. Unlike the surprises at Times Square, the ‘catch and run’ game at The Venue Riyadh Season saw Canelo Alvarez breeze past William Scull‘s lackluster challenge to once again become the undisputed champion. Perhaps anticipating this outcome, Turki Alalshikh and his team saved the best for last. Right after the fight, Terence Crawford entered the ring for the official face-off with the super middleweight king. The Riyadh Season head made the long-awaited announcement.

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will meet in Las Vegas on September 12. While most boxing fans had already anticipated this mega matchup, what remained was an official confirmation. It’s here now. Over the next four months, expect the boxing world to be saturated with Canelo-Crawford coverage in every shade and tone.  Still, despite the confirmation, the call-outs to Canelo haven’t stopped. And they’re not likely to anytime soon. Edgar Berlanga, like many before him, struggled against Canelo’s crushing body shots. However, watching the Scull fight unfold, Berlanga didn’t hold back. Calling the bout ‘boring as hell,’ he made it clear he wants another shot.

Backing his words with a tweet, the Nuyorican fighter wrote, “Omg, this fucking fight is boring! I need that rematch #caneloberlanga2.
