After Xander Schauffele, 6x PGA Tour Star’s Exit Threatens PGA Tour Amid TV Ratings Woes

The player withdrawing curse is still haunting the league. As we move to the second month of the 2025 calendar year, the worry of players withdrawing from the event continues. Earlier the Farmers Insurance Open took a massive hit with more than 15 players withdrawing from the event. However, the following signature event, i.e., the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, offered relief with many prominent names getting back on the course, including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and others.

Despite that, the first event of February, i.e., the WM Phoenix Open, which earlier shared the great news of many players, has now shared about the tragic withdrawal of Viktor Hovland. The update was shared on X from the PGA Tour Communication official account. The news came in recently as a follow-up to the list of players.

The ongoing performance of Hovland wasn’t the best as he said, “I suck at (golf) right now.” After the disheartening confession of his game, the news is even harder for the fans to digest.

This is a developing story…
