“I think it’s great to just kind of have someone who is with you, supporting you, helping keep you focused.” That statement by Taylor Fritz aptly describes the relationship between him and his girlfriend, the influencer Morgan Riddle. And truly, we’ve seen it unfold time and again. From the scorching courts of Melbourne to the sweat-drenched battles in Miami, the 27-year-old has stood by Fritz, even through a season of ups and downs. Whether he’s bowing out early or pushing through pain, she’s there, cheering loudest. Now, as Fritz heads to Rome for the Italian Open, Riddle addresses fiery criticism, explaining why she’s unapologetically capitalizing on his fame, with his full backing. Curious about what she said?
Fritz and Riddle’s love story began back in 2020, after the two connected on a dating app. Since then, they’ve grown into one of the most prominent and recognizable couples in tennis. Morgan Riddle, a social media influencer and model, has carved her niche by offering fans an intimate look into the life of a pro tennis player on tour. Her engaging content has drawn massive attention, with over 430,000 followers on IG and 270,000 on TikTok, significantly boosting the sport’s visibility among younger audiences.
Her popularity soared further after appearing alongside Taylor Fritz in Netflix’s documentary series “Break Point”, which highlighted the highs and lows of the tennis elite. In 2023 and 2024, she even collaborated with Wimbledon as a fashion influencer. Having achieved significant prominence in tennis, Riddle has recently refuted criticisms concerning the utilization of Fritz’s fame, emphasizing their relationship’s foundation in mutual support and its consistently collaborative nature.
Morgan Riddle recently opened up during her candid appearance on Olivia Molly Rogers‘ “Tell Me More” podcast, where she spoke honestly about life as a tennis WAG, her career trajectory, and the constant stream of criticism she receives for being in the spotlight. Addressing her dynamic with the American ace Taylor Fritz, she revealed how deeply supportive the 4th seed has been of her journey. “In terms of like my career and everything that I’m doing, he’s always been so supportive of it,” Riddle said. “Um, you know he’s always said like ‘I want to be a dual income household.’ So I’m like ‘All right baby Let’s be a dual income household Here we go.”
Subsequently, she adopted the narrative that she is leveraging her boyfriend’s success in tennis, a narrative that both she and Fritz appear to endorse. “People say that I am capitalizing off of his career. And I’m like, ‘Yep, you know what? I am.’ And he’s okay with that. And I’m okay with that because, you know, it’s—it’s a partnership,” she added with confidence and clarity.
Well, this isn’t the first time the American influencer has addressed the backlash she’s faced. Back in March, as well, during an appearance on “The Squeeze podcast,” she revealed the toll the criticism has taken and her firm stance against it. “I definitely got a lot of backlash, both from within the tennis community and the fans. ‘I’m calling attention to myself,’ people just expected me to, like, sit in the box, be relatively private. Like, not capitalize on my partner’s career. Came in guns blazing, I was like, ‘F*** that!’ People make up insane things. It’s just the same misogynist, regurgitated b******t again and again,” the 27-year-old remarked.
Despite the noise, Riddle emphasized how important it is for her to stay grounded. She made it clear that her focus is on her growth and her intended audience, choosing to block out unwarranted negativity and continue building her presence on her terms.

During her appearance on the same podcast, Riddle was asked how she copes with the ongoing criticism she faces, particularly from the more traditional tennis fanbase. Responding with clarity and composure, the 27-year-old influencer said, “Well, like I said, I block a lot of people. That’s not my intended audience. I always went into this like, ‘I want to bring a younger audience to tennis.”
She went on to stress her mission to engage more women in professional tennis. “I want to get girls involved in tennis. So if people don’t like my content, good. Get out of my way. Don’t watch my content. And I’ll let the people who this will actually be interesting to, or entertain, or inform find me,” she said, making it clear online negativity did not sway her.
Before this, Riddle had addressed the backlash she received as well. In an August 2023 interview with “The New York Times”, she candidly reflected on how she’s often blamed for Taylor Fritz’s poor form since their relationship became public. “If his (Taylor Fritz’s) ranking had gone down, they’d say it’s my fault. I’m really happy with what I’m doing, and I’m making good money. People are allowed to make all the judgments they want,” she said.
As Fritz now heads into the Italian Open, where he’s seeded 4th and has a 1st-round bye, all eyes will be on how he performs. Could Morgan’s unshakable support finally fuel his chase for a first solo title in 2025? What do you think?
