Amid Growing Mockery, Xander Schauffele Told to Name His Odd Business Move ‘OnlyXans’

Xander Schauffele is the biggest thing in golf right now! No, we’re not talking about the PGA Tour pro who won two majors in 2024. That guy has not had the best time on the Tour this year. He may have made all six cuts this year, but Schauffele has failed to consistently compete for the title. His best performance was in the 2025 Masters, where he finished at T8 on the leaderboard. Fans definitely expect more out of the third-best golfer in the world according to OWGR.

However, what fans may not have expected from him is the latest update he shared about his brand. The Xander Schauffele brand has its own website, merch, calendar, and coaching options. Although his website doesn’t seem to be updated, as it still shows him as the world no. 2 on OWGR. His schedule also hasn’t been updated since the ZOZO Championship, which was completed on October 26, 2024. Now, the celebrated pro golfer has revealed that he has added another unique feature that connects him to his fans. Dan Rapaport shed some light on the same in the latest episode of the Dan on Golf podcast. With Joel Dahmen and Luke Clanton as special guests, he and Ben Boskovich discussed everything latest on golf.

One of the segments was entirely dedicated to the latest reports from the Xander Schauffele brand. To kick things off, Rapaport announced, “Xander Schauffele has an app! And scores of Xander Schauffele fans from around the world have been waiting for this with bated breath for it to drop.” There was an undertone of sarcasm in the analyst’s statement as he led with, “He promoted it like the absolute showman that he is. Here’s Xander Schauffele.” The podcast showed a video of Schauffele talking about his app and all the features it includes.

Speaking to his fans, the world no. 3 said, “Hey, everyone! Xander Schauffele here. I’ve got something exciting to announce. We’ve just launched an app that brings you even closer to everything happening in my world. With this app, you will get exclusive access to official merchandise from sponsors, limited edition memorabilia, and additional content that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s all in one place. Gear, signed items, and special moments I’m excited to share with you. This is my way of staying connected with the incredible fans who’ve been with me every step of the way. The app is available now on the App Store and Google Play. So go ahead and download it today.” All through the video, we can see that Rapaport was extremely amused by Schauffele’s marketing pitch to the fans.

Mocking the manner of the PGA Tour pro’s speech, the analyst had a message for his co-host. He said, “Hi, Ben. Daniel Rapaport here. This is my way of asking you what your opinion is on Xander Schauffele launching an app. Thanks for answering. Can’t wait to see you soon.” The speech almost sounded like Rapaport was reading an email he received while employed as a white-collar worker.

Complementing the mimicking, Boskovich also shared his response to his co-host, while you could hear Rapaport giggling in the background. Once this episode of imitating Schauffele was over, the famed reporter questioned, “At a certain point, you just have to ask ‘why?’,” perplexed by Schauffele’s intent behind getting an app developed about him. His co-host suggested that he is trying to turn himself into a golf celebrity by branding himself. Patrick Cantlay has also done something similar by promoting his website often. The latter’s methods seem to be working. Soon after his website was launched in 2019, he became the first athlete signed by Goldman Sachs in 150 years in 2020.

Coming back to Schauffele’s situation, Rapaport suggested that the app should have been called “Only Xander,” which prompted Ben to suggest “OnlyXans.” This received a few giggles and approval from both experts before the segment came to an end.

Apart from turning himself into a brand, Xander Schauffele is also aligned with big brands around the world. Let’s take a look at his sponsorship portfolio to understand his image better.

Xander Schauffele’s brand associations

Xander Schauffele may have turned his name into a brand himself. But many reputed brands have also aligned themselves with the Californian. $175 billion firm, Blue Owl Capital Inc., is one of the biggest sponsors that has signed Schauffele on a multi-year deal. He is also endorsed by Descente as an apparel partner. Avis turned Schauffele into their brand ambassador back in June 2024.

Famous sports wear brand, Adidas, has been aligned with the PGA Tour pro since 2018. That was the same season Schauffele won The Sentry and the WGC. He had also finished as a runner-up in the Masters and the TOUR Championship in the same year. The 31-year-old’s golf kit is sponsored by Callaway.
