The Boston Bruins’ captain is off to Florida, and fans are losing their minds. After all, it was a trade that made them lose their star—a cornerstone of their favorite team! Nobody saw this coming. Or rather, nobody wanted this to happen. But who’s to blame? Well, the culprit of the plot twist remains the Bruins’ general manager, Don Sweeney!
Yes, you heard that right. We never thought this would happen, though chatter said otherwise! Marchand was the heart and soul of the Boston Bruins, with a record of playing over 1,090 games since 2006, where he scored 422 goals, 554 assists, and 976 points! A key player for Boston’s 2011 Stanley Cup wins, too! But then came the ultimate end of a saga—giving up the captain! It’s unbelievable, and let’s just say Sweeney’s the subject of fans’ wrath!
Don Sweeney’s explanation earns eye rolls!
While Sweeney continues to be subjected to intense trolling, what does he have to say? A mere confession! After trading Marchand, Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo, and others at the deadline on Friday afternoon, Sweeney spoke to the media at Warrior Ice Arena. He confessed as follows, “And obviously the captain in Brad Marchand. You know, that one goes back a long ways for me and cuts deeper than really any player that I’ve had the privilege of getting to know and watch thrive and become a, you know, Hall of Famer, a great, you know, one of the greatest Bruins ever.” Still doesn’t explain why but well, honestly, his words were more scripted that nobody asked for!
This story is developing. Stay tuned for more..
