So here’s what happened. A memes page BricksCenter posted what looked like a quote from Reese during All-Star weekend. According to them, when asked about WNBA salaries, she supposedly said, “Y’all make $1,400 a week, I make $1,400 in 7 days.” Now, at first glance, you might believe it. Remember that Dior bag from the Paris Olympics? This fake quote seemed like it was linking back to that.
But turns out, she never said it. After all, Reese has been very open about her finances before. She once admitted her WNBA salary doesn’t even cover her $8,000 rent. Just a month later, she signed a multiyear endorsement extension with Reebok and will even have her own signature shoe. She once joked online that her sponsorships pay the bills and we don’t doubt that for a second.
