Away from Gymnastics with DWTS Commitments Stephen Nedoroscik Gives Penn State Reality Check Over NCAA Title Dreams

If multi-talented had a name, then it would be Stephen Nedoroscik. After all, just look at his exploits. Breaking the medal drought of your country’s gymnastics team? Check. Lighting the nation on fire on Dancing with the Stars?  Check. Making sure your alma mater is not going astray since you graduated? Check. Wait what? Well yes, you heard it right. As the NCAA season heats up, Nedoroscik has made sure that his former hunting ground, Penn State, knows the reality.

But what did the Pommel Horse maestro have to say? And why? Well, despite graduating, he has kept a sharp eye on Penn State and is very much involved with them, even from afar.  He recently shared his rankings for the top collegiate gymnastics programs, and one major takeaway stood out: Penn State, his alma mater, didn’t make his top three.

“I want to jump into my list, how I see the season shaking up, and ultimately let’s break down what’s really happening in the NCAA right now,” he stated in a video posted by the “Collegemgym” Instagram handle. Stephen Nedoroscik’s ranking of top collegiate teams for the season offers an unfiltered take on who’s truly in contention. The caption reads, “Power Rankings & Hot Takes .”

A two-time Olympic bronze medalist started with, “At number one spot we’re going to have Oklahoma, and then Stanford, and then Michigan.” It looks like he has totally ignored Penn State. He has praised Penn for winning against Stanford, which is ahead of Penn in his list. “Penn State just looks super steady throughout. And that is really the name of the game—just staying steady,” Nedoroscik added.

While these top three powerhouses have long dominated NCAA gymnastics, with Oklahoma’s depth, Stanford’s consistency, and Michigan’s emerging talent making them strong championship contenders. However, the real surprise came when Nedoroscik placed Penn State outside his top three, grouping them with other teams. “After those three big teams, we’re going to have Ohio, Penn State, Illinois, and Nebraska,” he stated.

In his hot take, he further goes by saying, “Now, I think these top seven I’ve listed so far are going to be the big players of the NCAA season.” And what after these seven teams? “We have Air Force, Navy, Cal, William & Mary, Army, Greenville, Springfield, and Simpson,” Clark Kent added. Though he has said that Penn State can beat Illinois, he still does not have trust in his own alma mater; it feels like a truth bomb for Penn State, or it hints at something else.

What is Stephen Nedoroscik all up to?

Stephen Nedoroscik, renowned for his exceptional prowess on the pommel horse, has recently taken a hiatus from competitive gymnastics. This break is primarily due to his participation in the 33rd season of the DWTS post-season tour. Partnered with professional dancer Rylee Arnold, Nedoroscik embraced this new challenge, showcasing his versatility beyond the gymnastics arena.

Beyond the dance floor, Nedoroscik’s journey on DWTS fostered meaningful relationships. He and his dance partner, Rylee Arnold, developed a close friendship. While he is away from the gymnastics world, still his efforts are being recognized. Yep, that’s right. And you may ask how. Well, the renowned AAU James E. Sullivan Award has chosen “Pommel Horse Guy” as one of its 39 semi-finalists for their 95th edition.

But why him? Well, that is because Stephen Nedoroscik etched his name in history as the first American to win a world title on the pommel horse at the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
