Parents often dream of their kids following in their footsteps, but that’s not always the case. Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia enjoys sports, but instead of swinging a tennis racket, she’s perfecting her golf swing. Similarly, tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf raised two kids, but neither pursued tennis. Their son, Jaden Agassi, is carving out a career in baseball, while their daughter, Jaz Agassi, has explored dance, fashion, and more. Jaz may not have taken up tennis, but she is still cheering on for the sport from the sidelines!
Jaz is currently studying at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is often spotted supporting the UNLV men’s tennis team. Most recently, she cheered for the team’s rising star, Ilia Snitari, after he earned the titles of Men’s Tennis Player and Freshman of the Week. Snitari made a bold first impression in collegiate tennis. In his debut, he dominated both singles and doubles matches. He delivered a strong performance against Wichita State in singles and partnered with Illia Maksymchuk to secure a doubles win at the Mountain West Conference.
The UNLV team highlighted this achievement in an Instagram post, and it didn’t go unnoticed by Jaz. She dropped a simple yet powerful one-word comment: “Beast.” She also reshared the post on her Instagram Story, showing her support.
Despite being one of the most well-known couples in sports, Agassi and Graf prefer to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight. However, during an interview with ’60 Minutes Australia’, the 8-time Grand Slam champion got emotional when speaking about his kids. Reflecting on fatherhood, he said, “I’m proud not because it’s some certain stage. But because they’re lost in what they do.” He added, “I mean what a joy to be able to watch somebody you care so much about feel that way right? I’d put on a heart monitor and it really, the only thing that would move it would be the love of feeling for them. And not the nerves of the performance.”
Jaz also shares a deep bond with her father. On March 1, she was seen cheering for him at the Pickleball Slam as he showcased his skills in the growing sport.
Jaz gifts Andre Agassi his famous red bandana
The MGM Rewards Slam was held at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on March 1. Originally planned as a two-day event, the matches scheduled for the second day were canceled.
Jaz was in the stands, supporting her father and Aryna Sabalenka as they teamed up for a mixed doubles match against Naomi Osaka and Mardy Fish. She even shared a clip of Andre Agassi and Sabalenka playing together on social media. Agassi and Sabalenka edged out their opponents 10-8 in a one-round tiebreaker.
One of the highlights of the match wasn’t just Agassi’s performance but his iconic red bandana. The tennis legend rocked the same style he wore at the 1995 Australian Open. But this wasn’t just a random wardrobe choice—his daughter found an exact replica and gifted it to him for the event. Agassi couldn’t help but acknowledge the special moment. After the match, he took to Instagram and wrote, “What a fun day playing in my hometown of Vegas yesterday. Can’t believe my daughter @jazagassi found me the exact red bandana I wore back in 1995, so I had to bring it back. An awesome way to celebrate the here and now.”
It’s clear that while Jaz may not have stepped onto the tennis court as a competitor, her love for the sport—and for her father—remains strong.
