‘Better Than Masters’: Golf Fans Tear Into Scottie Scheffler as Nelly Korda Hosts Grand Feast for LPGA Pros

Following the excitement at Augusta, attention has now shifted to the Chevron Championship. Much like the Masters, the LPGA’s first major of the year also comes with the tradition of a Champions Dinner, a gourmet celebration honoring past winners. Last year’s champion, Nelly Korda, curated a menu that catered to just about every craving. And interestingly, she’s now earning plenty of praise from fans for her choices.

The LPGA shared a post on social media announcing Nelly Korda’s choice of dinner for the Chevron Championship. Interestingly, the menu is a full continental one. It will start with caviar and then a cream of mushroom soup, new crop onions, and garden peas. Next, there is herb-roasted fillet of Snake River Farms, American Wagyu Beef, and Sauce ‘Goulash’ are which gives the feel of Central Europe.

With this, she has also selected Greek ‘Deli’ Salad, asparagus, garnet yam gratin, and mushrooms. However, a dinner can’t be considered at best if there is no dessert to complement it. Well, Nelly Korda has that covered as well. There will be Spring Berry Dumplings. Toasted poppy seeds wrapped up in Tahitian vanilla anglaise, working as a cherry on top of the dinner.

She seems to have a special connection with the dessert. “My personal touch was the dessert. That’s something that, as a kid, was my favorite meal. They’re fruit-filled dumplings. It’s kind of bringing in my Czech roots as well,” she said. However, not just dessert, Nelly Korda was excited about starters as well. “I love mushroom soup, that’s one of my favorite things for the starter,” Korda was quoted as saying by Golf Digest.

As the menu continues to garner attention, fans have a lot to say about the choice of food.

What do fans have to say about Nelly Korda’s preferences?

One fan directly took a jab at Scottie Scheffler’s choices and said, “Better than the masters menu.” The number one golfer had an interesting menu served in ‘Scottie Style.’ However, what garnered attention was Papa Scheff’s meatball and ravioli bite, a nod to his injury while making the dish at home last year during Christmas. Painful but funny!

So, admiring the LPGA this time, another added, “Wow, what a menu!! Only the best for the champ.” This fan wasn’t too concerned about the actual menu, simply saying, “I don’t know what half of this stuff is. But if Nelly likes it, I’m in.” And honestly, that makes sense, nearly every dish on the menu is a choice of Nelly Korda’s tastes. Take the American Wagyu Beef, for instance. Korda herself says, “No one can go wrong with a good old wagyu steak.” With that in mind, it’s clear this fan is fully on board as long as the choices have Korda’s stamp of approval.

Nelly Korda is 26 years old, which is relatively young. This fan took that into account and added, “Pretty refined menu, for a twenty-something golfer.’ Highlighting that, despite being such a young golfer, Korda was able to come up with exotic dishes from Central Europe, the proper balance of starters, salads, and even dessert. Stunned with the choice of food, another simply said, “Damn.”
