When Josh Allen’s Bills dropped that Hallmark movie announcement in March, it felt like Buffalo had officially entered its rom-com era. Snow, football, and maybe a little mistletoe at Highmark? Perfect fit. And yeah, it’s not every day you see a team let cameras roll on their home turf for Christmas. But Buffalo’s different. They lean into the chaos—and apparently, the cameras too. After all, the same team that’s usually breaking down film is now in a film.
The movie, titled Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, is part of Hallmark Channel’s 16th annual “Countdown to Christmas” and follows the success of last year’s Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. And the word got out quickly as the Bills announced the players who are appearing in the film. Damar Hamlin’s in. So is Coach Sean McDermott. And get this, it isn’t just a background cameo type. Oh no. In fact, it’s in full-on movie mode.
Yup, just like Andy Reid and players like Mecole Hardman and Clyde Edwards-Helaire appeared in the Chiefs Love Story. RB Ray Davis, OT Dion Dawkins, TE Dawson Knox, LS Reid Ferguson, DT DeWayne Carter, and WR Joshua Palmer will be joining in this time around. Bills legend Jim Kelly, former teammates Steve Tasker, Thurman Thomas, Scott Norwood, and Andre Reed, are also in.
Well, at this point, it’s safe to say that the Bills Mafia isn’t just going to watch the players on the gridiron in 2025. A special treat awaits in the theatres as well. “We are so excited to have a stellar ensemble cast that is truly an acting dream team,” said Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media.
“The addition of Coach McDermott along with the current Bills players and alumni gives us the winning combination to bring to life this heartwarming story that celebrates the bonds of family and community and, of course, there’s romance with a touch of Christmas magic.” The production of the movie will take place around the Buffalo area, New York.
And yeah, it will also include the iconic Hallmark Stadium, which is set to host the Bills’ season for one final time before the franchise moves to a new venue in 2026. It makes the Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story a whole lot interesting. Besides, the shooting location also includes Oishei Children’s Hospital.
It’s still unclear whether Josh Allen will appear in the film or not, but before you drop your shoulders in regret, reports are emerging that Allen might be the next football star to enter the entertainment world.
Is Josh Allen taking a page out of Travis Kelce’s playbook?
Ever since Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship came to light, the Chiefs’ tight end is making waves in the entertainment world. Whether through his podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, or his upcoming movie appearance in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore, Kelce surely knows how to make his presence felt in every possible way. And now, it seems like the Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, is heading down the Kelce-Hollywood Road.
As per the reports from Life & Style, Allen might be the next big thing from the football world in Hollywood. And get this, his relationship with singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld has only raised his profile. “Even before he and Hailee became an item, Josh was emerging as one of Hollywood’s most interesting football stars, especially for studio executives who are dismissive of the hype around Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship,” a source told Life & Style.
“Josh has the total package, from primetime worthy football highlights to matinee idol good looks, and Hailee has already managed to have a very impressive crossover career where she can effortlessly move from music to movies and back again.” The couple got engaged in November last year after the quarterback sat down on one knee to propose to Hailee.
“She (Hailee) knows Josh is a catch, and she’s also been made aware of the heavy Hollywood interest in him,” the source further said. “Josh isn’t somebody you turn into a cheesy game show host or reality star, he’s a guy you can put into the kind of big movies that Hailee has been making since she was a little kid.” For the time being, Allen is gearing up to start the 2025 campaign after earning his first MVP honors. Given a lot of football still left in him, we’ll be seeing him on the gridiron. In Hollywood? There’s a possibility. But we’ll have to wait.
