Caitlin Clark Clashes with WNBA Ref Before Connecticut Sun Coach’s Successful Challenge vs Fever

We already know the kind of explosion it was when Caitlin Clark and Jacy Sheldon went one-on-one in their last game. So, coming onto the court, a similar scenario was expected. And the spectators weren’t let down. This time, however, it wasn’t really a showdown between players. Instead, a show between Clark and the refs!

It all came up with 5:19 left in the third quarter, as Damiris Dantas checked in for Aliyah Boston. Just seconds later, the Connecticut Sun began to pound the glass as Leila Lacan missed a deep three and Bria Hartley grabbed the board. Hartley then tried her luck from beyond the arc and missed too, only to secure her own rebound again. The Sun weren’t converting, but they were hustling hard.

On the next play, Leila took another shot—a 13-foot jumper—but came up short. The Sun grabbed another offensive rebound, leading to a Coach’s Challenge at 4:33 after contact was made. The call was overturned, and the Sun kept their timeout. Then, a quick jumper from Lacan brought the score to 54–51. And that was what hyped CC as she went one on one with the refs as usual!
