Calls Mount Against Quinshon Judkins’ NFL Stocks After Unexpected Future Claim Leaves Fans Baffled

January 24 is the date when running back Quinshon Judkins declared for the portal. His parting words for Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes were filled with nothing but gratitude. “To Buckeye nation, thank you for taking in a kid from Alabama and continually showing your support.” Playing under Day brought him the recognition as a Third-Team All-Big Ten selection.

Even though, Judkins carries the green pass belonging to the national championship program, he did put in a lot effort to land in the pro league. And his hardwork did not got to waste. With this came big and unexpected prediction about his future, and the CFB fans did not miss the chance to pin him down with their sharp commentary.

Quinshon Judkins goes viral with intense off-season antics

Judkins was a three-star prospect when he landed in the 2022 recruiting class at Ole Miss. In Lane Kiffin’s squad, he had spent two seasons, running for 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns. Post which in 2024, he landed with the Buckeyes. He played for 16 games where he rushed 194 times for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. However, his best feat came during their 34-23 win over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff title game in Atlanta. Judkins gifted the Buckeyes with two rushing touchdowns and caught a pass for another. Now that he is all set to board the NFL wagon, along with improving his legs and running game, the RB is busy building his frame.

On March 22, NFL analyst Dov Kleiman posted a clip of Judkins. The original clip was posted by the RB’s trainer Dr. Sharif Tabbah who is also a therapist at the Alkeme Performance gym. He posted a video of Judkins lifting heavy weights at the gym. We can’t ignore how his arm muscles get pumped up in the process. Dr. Tabbah did not forget to hype him up. He left a note, “@nfl draft next stop .” Seeing Judkins pushing the limit did impress analyst Kleiman. He then wrote, “TRENDING: Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins has gone viral for his MASSIVE frame Many people think he is the RB1 in the draft.”

Not just at the gym. The RB stood out at Indianapolis during the NFL Combine. Judkins compiled an excellent set of drills that paired wonderfully with a fantastic run of testing highlighted by an 11-foot broad jump. He then came up with a  38.5-inch vertical and a 4.48-second 40-yard dash that checked the box on his resume. Now can the RB1 prediction as highlighted by Kleiman come true? Maybe. After all, Judkins boasts a scheme-versatile conceptual fit. But the fans call him out and see him as a much later pick.

Quinshon Judkins’ RB1 prediction did not sit well with fans

As analyst Sal Vetri tweeted on March 21, “Judkins is a physical bruiser but also shifty. He’s a borderline Day 1 NFL talent who likely won’t be taken until the 2nd round…” In that way, the ex-Ohio State runner might not stand a chance as RB1. Now what might be the reason behind Judkins getting pushed lower? Speed isn’t an issue but he does lack true homerun speed. On that note, a fan commented, “Absolutely nobody thinks he’s RB1 in this draft.”

Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. projected him as the No.5 overall running back in his mock draft on position rankings. Maybe the analyst is still in two minds as Judkins struggled with efficiency in 2024. He averaged only four yards per carry in five of his nine Big Ten games, despite his strong acceleration. Thus a fan counter-questioned, “Ain’t he like RB6?”

Going by Maurice Jones-Drew’s predictions, the No.1 pick is going to be Ashton Jeanty. This will be followed by No.2 TreVeyon Henderson, No.3 Cam Skattebo, and Judkins falling to No.4. While he’s a patient runner who likes to pick his spots, Judkins can sometimes wait too long to make a decision. But in the NFL you cannot afford to take so much time. A fan thus wrote, “Yet he can’t see a hole to save his life.” Going by his college football tapes, Judkins still needs to take what’s there and be satisfied with shorter gains instead of no gain at all in certain situations. Yet another fan was left surprised as he wrote, “Who has him at RB1? I haven’t seen him rated any higher than RB3.”

The fact that the Denver Broncos are interested in Quibshon Judkins is hardly surprising, as their rushing attack struggled mightily in 2024, and they just lost RB Javonte Williams to free agency. The Broncos hold the No.20 pick in Round 1. By then Jeanty will be already taken off the shelf. That’s when a fan challenged, “Show me one person who has him over Jeanty.” So, with his upgraded bulked-up physique, could Judkins’ increased strength give him an edge in the draft?
