Celtics Announce Major Jaylen Brown News Before Jazz Clash Amid Massive Ownership Overhaul

It has been quite eventful past 24 hours in Boston. After a long and tiring search, the Boston Celtics have found their owner. In fact, he’s one of their own. A group led by William Chisholm, a Massachusetts native and a lifelong Celtics fan, is set to take over the historic franchise after an American-record sale of $6.1 billion was executed yesterday. While new ownership often represents a massive shift in any organization, right now, the C’s will have to remain focused on the task at hand.

The C’s are amidst their title defense and with not long left before we head to the business end of the season, the playoffs. So, Boston will have to be at their best on the court. With the new ownership now in place, the first game under Chisholm’s helm will be a trip to Utah. The Celtics will be on the road to face the Jazz on Friday. They head into this game after winning three straight games including back-to-back wins over the Brooklyn Nets. The most recent of which came at the TD Garden. The Celtics were short-handed on the night as they missed their star guard, Jaylen Brown due to injury.

Now, as they take their first step in this new era, the C’s have dropped a massive update regarding Brown. The  28-year-old has been ruled out for the Jazz game due to a right knee posterior impingement. That’s a massive blow for Boston who are looking to end the regular-season on a high. Brown has been struggling with a couple of injuries lately. He’s missed two of the team’s last three games and exited the first matchup against Brooklyn due to back spams. Now, he has suffered a knee injury, which is quite concerning for the Celtics with the playoff approaching.

Boston has held its ground without Brown who’s missed 13 games this season However, his impact on the team is undeniable. The shooting guard is averaging 22.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. So, without him, the team certainly will not be at their best. In his absence, Sam Hauser will likely remain in the lineup and try to help the team until Brown is healthy. Even though it might be a while before we see Jaylen Brown suit up under the new ownership, the C’s star has already outlined what he wants to see from the new upper management.

Jaylen Brown outlines what he wants out of the new owners of the franchise

Now, the Boston Celtics are under new owners Bill Chisholm and Co. after former C’s owner Wyc Grousbeck decided to part ways with this historic franchise. While it remains to be seen how the native owner led the charge in Boston, Jaylen Brown has already set his expectations for the bosses after this massive change. The 28-year-old was in Cleveland last month with the bidding process still in place, where spoke to reporters about how he wants to see his beloved franchise moving forward. “I hope they have like either a trust or just a reliance on people who have knowledge of the game,” Brown told MassLive’s Souichi Terada.

Keep the emphasis on winning. I know business is a part of the overall viewpoint of ownership. But winning is important, as well. So hope that is maintained, like, the view on winning. We’ve done nothing but that since I’ve been here is winning. Hopefully, the new ownership understands and respects that.” The C’s guard further added. Well, his wish might have just come true! The new owner of the Celtics is a lifelong C’s faithful and even attends games of his favorite franchise. Moreover, Chisholm has also clearly stated that he wants to continue the team’s winning history.

Just last summer, Boston hung up the banner of their record 18th championship to the rafter of the TD Garden. “I’m all about winning championships and raising banners,” Chisholm told the Boston Globe in a recent interview. Well, it seems the new ownership and Jaylen Brown are on the same page. This is just great news for the Celtics fans! While it’s very early to come to any conclusion there seems to be an air of excitement around the new ownership. As the C’s continue their hunt to win back-to-back championships.
