Charissa Thompson’s 9-Word Message on Boyfriend’s Special Day After Confessing Real Feelings on Marriage

Our FOX Sports reporter Charissa Thompson always seems to be in the discussions. Ranging from her career to personal takes on relationships, she never holds back. Sometimes it’s her close friendship with Erin Andrews or it’s a talk about her past marriages. And now, her relationship with her boyfriend has made fans curious about where things stand. Especially after her recent message to him.

Charissa Thompson earlier took to Instagram to celebrate her boyfriend, Steven Cundari, with a warm birthday message. She shared an Instagram story that read, “Happy Birthday Tommy @stevencundari. Sure do love you & your love of horses.” Along with the message, she posted a photo of Cundari dressed in an elegant outfit, capturing his passion for horseback riding. And it wasn’t a flashy birthday post, it was personal, direct, and filled with genuine emotion, showing her appreciation for Cundari in a way that felt real.

From Thompson’s message, we now know his nickname too, “Tommy.” It caught the attention of fans who speculated about their relationship. The photo she put on was possibly taken at an equestrian event or a stable. As Thompson took a moment to appreciate her partner’s passion. And gave fans a refreshing glimpse into their bonding.

Steven Cundari has a serious passion for horse riding, and it’s not just a casual hobby. Although, he’s a marketing executive but is actively involved with Ruby Ranch, where he spends plenty of time around horses and ranch life. Charissa admires his love for the sport. As it’s a big part of who he is. And Thompson’s birthday message is a sign that she fully supports his equestrian enthusiasm.

Charissa Thompson officially rejects marriage proposal

For Charissa Thompson, marriage is not in the cards for her and Steven Cundari. During a conversation on the Calm Down podcast with her longtime friend and co-host Erin Andrews, the FOX Sports reporter didn’t just brush off the idea of wedding bells. When Andrews playfully suggested that Thompson and Cundari could throw a surprise wedding at their ranch, Thompson immediately replied “No, knock it off.” And she wasn’t joking. She added, “I am never getting married again. We have already talked about it. We have already gone through all the reasons why.”

Thompson’s experience shapes her stance. She married twice before and knows firsthand the challenges that come with marriage. Her first marriage at 25 didn’t last, and her second, to sports agent Kyle Thousand, also ended in divorce in 2022. That past shaped her perspective, and she’s been open about her belief that love and commitment don’t have to come with legal paperwork. Others might expect a high-profile relationship like hers to eventually lead to a proposal, but Thompson has no interest in going down that road ever again.

While her friend Andrews has been married to NHL player Jarret Stoll since 2017 and struggled to understand Thompson’s stance. She even jokingly complained that Thompson never discussed this decision with her. But Thompson explains that she’d be happy to host a big celebration than exchange vows. “Listen, I will have a party, though. There’s just not going to be vows. Who cares about the vows anyway? No one’s listening to that s— and promises and this and that. Do that on your own time. People just want to show up for the party.” It tells Thompson isn’t against celebrating love, she just doesn’t see the need for a formal wedding. For her, it’s all about the connection.

Her firm stance against marriage and her relationship with Cundari continue to thrive every day. This proves that a committed partnership doesn’t require a wedding ring. Some fans mistook her take as if she wasn’t serious about Cundari. But, it seems to be the opposite, she’s simply choosing to live it on her own terms.
