Charles Barkley’s love for hockey took an awkward detour during TNT’s coverage of Game 6 between the Pacers and Knicks. In the middle of an intense Eastern Conference Finals showdown, Barkley tried to showcase a clip hyping up the Stanley Cup Finals between the Oilers and Panthers, particularly expressing his admiration for Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk.
But right as the video was supposed to play, the screen froze into a technical mess—flashing color bars and a loud beeping sound interrupted the segment. That’s when Shaq broke in, joking, “Just cold words for shut the hell up,” while Ernie Johnson pitched, “Way to stop the man in his tracks,” prompting the crew to refocus on the actual basketball game in front of them. Despite the technical delay, Barkley hilariously called out, “Let’s go Oilers!”.
Meanwhile, the Pacers led the Knicks 78-63 late in the third quarter, thanks to Pascal Siakam’s 24 points and strong contributions from Nesmith and Turner. For New York, Brunson and Anunoby had solid outings, but Towns struggled to find rhythm offensively.
(This is a building story…)
