The new MLB season has begun, but Mary Keller Taylor isn’t ready to move on. While the Los Angeles Dodgers are prepped with their team of superstars for another championship, Chris Taylor’s wife is still living in the magic of their 2024 World Series victory. And who can blame her? A win against baseball’s finest in just five games!
Mary recently took to Instagram to drop a throwback that has LA fans just feeling nostalgic all over again. In the story, she posted herself rocking a dazzling crystal-studded Dodgers jacket. This is the same jacket that she wore during the team’s winning parade.
But it wasn’t just a sentimental flex.
Mary’s caption was bold enough to catch attention: “We will be bringing this back for every World Series-related content.” This means that this bedazzled jacket is not going to get cooped up in the wardrobe. Rather is here to stay. Sure, the sparkly outfit was just a masterpiece, but Mary’s story was more than just fashion. It was a gesture to honor her husband’s journey in MLB.
Taylor is now a two-time World Series champion; he last won in 2020 too. Last season he wasn’t an everyday starter, but the 34-year-old did wrap the season up. 202 batting average, four home runs, and 23 RBI.
While he wasn’t a regular, he was part of LA’s squad that simply bulldozed all the competition. From winning the NL West to securing the best record in baseball to ultimately just winning the World Series against the New York Yankees. For Taylor, this is huge! And for Mary, it was a moment worth reliving over and over again.
To make you a little bit aware of Mary: she is originally from Hawaii and married Taylor back in 2022. Now the couple is living in LA and even has a son, Theo, who was born just December 2023. They have two more family members, their dogs Hendrix and Charlotte. And while she has completely adapted to the WAG life, she, herself, has an impressive resume, too. A bachelor’s in psychology from Columbia University. And according to sources, she is also working as a media and entertainment consultant at Russ August & Kabat, a Los Angeles-based law firm.
The creative force behind Dodgers championship jackets
However, Mary wasn’t the only one rocking the championship dazzling gear. The whole of the Los Angeles Dodgers turned the celebration of the WS into a full parade of a fashion show, and it’s all thanks to Michelle of Custom Bling—the genius behind it. Michelle has been creating such custom designs for nearly a decade and more. Hence when the Dodgers ended up securing the win, she didn’t hesitate to start designing something amazing, again.
She spoke to TMZ Sports and revealed she designed special denim jackets for the wives of Chris Taylor, Will Smith, NLCS MVP Tommy Edman, and Walker Buehler. And this wasn’t just any other jacket off the upstreet.
Each piece was decked up in blue and gold Swarovski crystals and shaped into the iconic commissioner trophy. It simply was the ultimate symbol of victory. For Michelle, this wasn’t just a project but had deep personal meaning. Her father was a lifelong Dodger fan and had been since the days of Fernando Valenzuela, who now has passed away. Helping the Dodger’s wives celebrate their husbands and the team’s win was a way to also show the love her family has for the game.
As far as Mary, this isn’t the first time she rocked a statement piece. Earlier last season, she had pulled up in Dodger Stadium in a hand-painted jacket from Denim Designs by LV LLC. It featured the image of her husband pointing to the sky.
And with such fashionable hype, we are all looking forward to more statement appearances, aren’t we?
