Christen Press Scores Seconds After Subbing In to Move Past Angel City Coach Controversy

1 minute—that’s all Christen Press needed to score a banger and a crucial goal for Angel City. But personally, the USWNT would rather see it as a moment of proving a point—a proper we-told-you-so moment if you will. Well, you tell us; for someone who hasn’t earned even a single start in eight NWSL games, how else would they prove their doubters and naysayers wrong? Correct, a match-winner does the job.

Again starting the Angel City vs Utah Royals game from the bench, the USWNT veteran made her announcement in style. It was a perfect slice and dice cut to get away from a defender as the 36-year-old lobbed a perfect goal just outside the six-yard box, leaving no chance whatsoever for the goalie to save it.

Vintage Christen Press!
