Conflicting Reports Emerge on Titans’ Decision for Cam Ward as NFL Insider Provides Will Levis Trade Update

This year’s NFL Draft looks to be getting well-cooked. With so much news and speculation, there is one question that fans cannot get enough of. And that is: who will be the first overall pick in the draft? Hmm, now that’s something with endless possibilities. For now, we know that the Tennessee Titans have the honor of calling the pick this year and they can do a lot with it. There are many rumors about the team going around. And it looks like the team will select rookie QB Cam Ward most likely. But some reports do not back this decision.

Several reporters have presented several scenarios for what could happen with the Titans. According to reporter Matt Miller, the Titans still have plenty of time to make a decision. He clearly claimed that there is no one way the team has decided to go in. They can still choose a non-QB pick, such as Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter, despite their QB need. The report read, “But trading the pick or deciding to instead go with a non-quarterback, such as Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, is seemingly still in play.”

While this report plainly shows that the team is still not ready, Jordan Reid‘s report complicates things a bit. Reid suggested that signs point to the Titans selecting Cam Ward first overall. And, while there were suggestions that the organization may trade its first-pick for a great veteran QB, things have changed. Right now, they could instead focus on developing a young QB for the future. So per Reid: “The feeling at the combine was that Tennessee was aggressively shopping the No. 1 pick, but that sentiment has cooled off a bit. Now signs are trending toward the Titans drafting Ward at the top of the draft, and many sources around the league are preparing for that outcome.”

But, guess what? Things don’t stop here. Reporter Field Yates, agrees with Reid’s allegations but believes the team can also accept a trade deal. His reports clearly claim, “Many people around the NFL now believe Ward is bound to be the No. 1 selection — though there’s still the possibility that the Titans could receive a trade offer too good to refuse.”

This situation is indeed too complicated. But still, the most popular theory is that the team will definitely get Cam Ward. And the reason for this could be that they are standing on thin ice in terms of a good QB.

Titans are not considering trading QB Will Levis ahead of the NFL draft

Tennessee needs to make a proper plan right now. They missed out on solid veteran quarterbacks in free agency, and the draft may be their last choice. As of March 2025, the team has three quarterbacks, but only one is somewhat effective on the field. And everyone knows it’s Will Levis, yet there have been reports that the team may consider trading him. If the team can not find a solid quarterback in the draft, this move could spell doom for them.

This is why Levis’ trade ambitions are currently on hold. Terry McCormick, a Titans source, indicated that the organization will make its Draft preparations first, and then decide what to do with Levis. Per McCormick, “I’m told that the Titans are not currently or actively shopping Will Levis. If some sort of move were to happen, it would make sense that it would come during the draft.” If the team’s other QBs, Mason Rudolph and Brandon Allen, shine in practice, the team might for a Will Levis trade.

Only time will tell what HC Brian Callahan and GM Mike Borgonzi are up to. They had a disastrous season last year, but they would undoubtedly want to make the most of their first-round pick. For the time being, one thing is clear: there are numerous possibilities and twists that could occur in the 2025 Draft.
