Conor McGregor has always been a fan of drama before the fights. Exactly. And an incident prior to BKFC Fight Night: Hollywood seemed to have excited ‘The Notorious’ enough to make him anticipate a bout. Well, the former UFC double champion has often tried to sell the fights at BKFC in style after becoming a part-owner of the $411M venture. Of course, McGregor has been dedicated to his role. He couldn’t even tolerate his winners not getting an interview back in December, and threatened the broadcasting partner for it. But this time, things were a bit more heated up than before. Psst… The incident involved a heavyweight who had already impressed McGregor and David Feldman with his record. So what exactly happened?
The co-main event for BKFC Fight Night: Hollywood, Leonardo Perdomo and Steve Herelius would clash against each other. But bad blood seemed to boil even before the duo had the chance to step into the ring. During the weigh-ins on 26 March 2025, ‘Zambo’ and the former WBA champion engaged in a brawl. It began when the Frenchman tried to diss ‘The Cuban Mike Tyson’. He kept on asking if he was indeed Mike Tyson. But ‘Zambo’ didn’t like being touched. To make things worse, Herelius flicked the back of his hand on Perdomo’s face.
Perdomo retaliated with a humongous swing, and the ‘Champion of France’ took hold of the weighing scale as a weapon. Thankfully, the officials rushed on to the stage to prevent things from worsening. The heat was enough to put Perdomo vs. Herelius in the spotlight. BKFC shared the visuals of the incident on X. The caption read, “ZAMBO SWINGS ON HERELIUS…HERELIUS GRABS THE SCALE AS A WEAPON.” And McGregor, being one of the most dramatic entities in the fighting realm, decided to promote the bout. He reposted the BKFC drama on X and wrote, “Absolutely Mur–rous!” And then, he went on to give a vital update about their broadcasting partner. He continued, “See you tomorrow night for Bare Knuckle at the HardRock! #LiveOnDazn.”

Of course, Conor McGregor has already talked highly of ‘Zambo’ and his knockout power. Winning 6 fights in the BKFC with 100% KO rate was truly mesmerizing. But when it came to DAZN, McGregor must have been a bit skeptical. Well, that was because ‘The Notorious’ was once furious on DAZN, and even threatened to cut all ties with the broadcasting company. Let’s take a look at the relationship between BKFC and DAZN.
Conor McGregor was once ready to get BKFC out of partnership with DAZN
McGregor is indeed an avid supporter of post-fight interviews. But on December 21, 2024, during BKFC on DAZN: Hollywood, he noticed something unusual. The winners of the event weren’t really interviewed after their fight. And this infuriated the former UFC double champion. Of course, it’s often the post-fight interviews that introduce the fighters to the fans. And without that, the contenders at BKFC would likely remain in the dark. And McGregor couldn’t have that. He tweeted, “DAZN I DONT GIVE A F—. IF YOU DONT GET OUR WINNERS ON THE MIC WE ARE DONE!”
The partnership between BKFC and DAZN is pretty new and is yet to turn one year old. A fallout with DAZN would certainly mean a massive fall for BKFC. But David Feldman actually agreed with McGregor’s take. He said, “He’s dead right on that but that actually wasn’t a DAZN thing.” Instead, it was Hard Rock at fault. The events have to be perfectly timed at the venue, and for extensions, the officials demand around $100K per hour. Nevertheless, Feldman said, “He’s dead right. So we are making some adjustments, too. These guys do need to be seen and heard because that’s what [makes] them. That’s what made [Conor]. If they didn’t talk to Conor McGregor after the fights, you wouldn’t know who he is. So we have to take advantage of that and we will.”
And now, it seems like things have been sorted well as McGregor continued to promote the bare-knuckle fights while including DAZN and Hard Rock in his post. With the kind of drama brewing between Perdomo and Herelius, he might actually be right. It’s going to be ‘absolutely murderous’. All we need to do is wait for the night of 27 March.
