“BKFC is a worldwide sensation. It’s taking things from Hollywood, Florida, to the World. This is global, and UAE, we will go global,” quipped Conor McGregor, as he amplified the buzz around BKFC after becoming a minor stakeholder in David Feldman’s promotion. As ‘Mystic Mac’ raises the bar for bare-knuckle fighting, guess who’s not thrilled? Yep, it’s none other than Jorge Masvidal, and you might be wondering why. Well, Masvidal doesn’t need a reason to fuel his beef with Conor, but this time, it’s personal—especially when business gets involved.
Plotting to make a comeback to the UFC after his boxing endeavor, Jorge Masvidal has been making headlines by calling out several top-notch fighters, and Conor McGregor is just a name on the list. While having a conversation with Ariel Helwani, the initial BMF belt holder denounced ‘Mystic Mac’s BKFC success by stating that he was the first person who advocated bare-knuckle fighting through Gamebred promotions. “I’ve been here first,” said Masvidal.
He further added, “You know what I especially hate hearing? It’s the f—- — what is the f—– midget’s name? The short guy was talking about, “Take the gloves off and fight, b—–.” Motherf—–r, the only time you did was at a f—– bar to a old man. Your boy here’s been taking these things off and throwing them down since before TVs had color. So, get the [ __ ] out of my face, and you tell your dark friend over there, Ariel, to shut his mouth.”
His hatred for Conor McGregor is palpable, considering that McGregor is trying to make BKFC a household name, increasing his revenue, while Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA struggles to find any relevance in American households. Well, this is not the first time that ‘Gamebred’ has called out ‘Mystic Mac’ for his BKFC endeavor. When asked by Andrew Whitelaw of EssentiallySports whether McGregor’s BKFC presence would pose any threat to Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA, Masvidal stated that he doesn’t give any importance to BKFC in general.
“I don’t watch bare-knuckle boxing; I could give a f–k unless I watch boxing. But bare-knuckle MMA is what I f—ing love. You know, it’s a raw form of combat; that’s how combat started. This is not embarrassing; bare-knuckle boxing is not necessarily bare-knuckle boxing because the rules are different. They have the clinch; they have rounds that are different,” said Jorge Masvidal.
The former BMF belt holder launched his Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA back in April 2021, with the inaugural event happening in June of that same year. Three years later, Jorge Masvidal has been making immense progress in making the sport a household name. However, Conor McGregor’s BKFC might be making it a bit difficult for him to get such traction. All the while ‘Gamebred Fighter’ is plotting his UFC comeback. And guess who he has challenged for a fight.
Jorge Masvidal attacks Conor McGregor on his comeback rumors
Will Conor McGregor ever return to the Octagon? This question has been on the minds of his fans, who are eager to see their star back in action. However, there have only been rumors with no solid leads regarding his comeback. Amidst this Jorge Masvidal has come forward to blatantly attack the former dual-weight champion. Having a conversation with MMAFighting, the former BMF belt holder stated, “We’ll see him at a bar and s—.”
“Are you talking about in the cage? Like as an official or to be judges? Do you mean fighting? I don’t think so. I hope he proves me wrong, but I don’t think so,” said ‘Gamebred.’ When asked about whether McGregor will ever fight him, Masvidal stated, “Conor, under no circumstances, is fighting me. He’s backed out of fighting Chandler — poor little Chandler, I don’t know how many times he let that dude eat dust. Imagine me? That guy is never fighting me. He can’t do enough cocaine to f—– get [jacked] up to fight me.”
Jorge Masvidal initially showed interest in fighting Conor McGregor back in 2020. However, the situation has changed drastically. Since both fighters have been away from the promotion for quite some time and considering their palpable bad blood, the UFC could make that fight happen, and Henry Cejudo is all for it.
Talking about the fight, Triple C’ took to his Instagram to express his excitement for the clash: “Mr. 305 is making a comeback. Yep, that’s right. I’m talking about Street Jesus. One of the three potential opponents that Jorge Masvidal may have. I would love to see him again. I mean, there is a big talk about these guys potentially scrapping each other. A couple of years ago, there was action.
He further added, “And the UFC kind of liked that whole thing. Jorge Masvidal, whatever he says he’s going to do, he’s going to do it. He’s a guy who doesn’t bend the rules. He’s a guy who breaks the rules. You know, he doesn’t care. He’s like Mike Tyson. Because so is a guy like Conor McGregor. I think this fight is bringing fireworks.” Given that, do you think we might witness a fight between them? State your thoughts in the comments below.
