“We accept our weirdo-ness, we’re not going to change it.” Amy Earnhardt declared on her podcast earlier. And she lives by these words quite literally!
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s life has always been loud—racing wins, crashes, and that tough 2018 Clash call when Amy said it was “not worth the risk to health” for him to race despite the danger. They met back in 2009 when Amy redesigned his North Carolina home, and she admitted, “It’s just a way bigger deal,” about stepping into NASCAR’s world. It was a shock, but she stuck with him through thick and thin—concussions in 2016, his 2017 retirement, and now raising their daughters, Isla and Nicole.
Junior backs her up, quirks and all. He spilled about their booth habit: “Me and Amy are as in love as one couple could be… I want to hold you, put my arm around you, I want your hand.” Amy’s cheeky reply? “Or steal your food.” It’s a nod to their first date, when Dale barely talked but ate half her plate. Now, he’s likely out there naming his new pets after old racing pals.
The Earnhardt couple are ‘Pet Parents’ now
It’s a sweet twist for the NASCAR legend and his wife, who’ve traded some racetrack chaos for country life. Dale’s still the guy we know from his racing days. Remember that wild chair tantrum Amy snapped a photo of? But now, he’s got domesticated animals in the mix. If you could pick any animal to adopt, what would it be? Dog or cat… maybe a bird. But, the Earnhardts always pick the unique ones. Remember the last time?
“Four donkeys,” Amy revealed on their unfiltered podcast Bless Your Hardt, “Any animal in the whole wide world as a dream, pretty jealous of the swans that Cletus has, peacocks are also kind of up there, that’s a good one.” She’s got some plans too: “Some kind of bird room in the front yard is kind of what I would do too.” Then, she added, “Living on the country, I don’t know, I’d like to have some goats, I want a new barn if you could.” It’s Amy’s heart on display and wild ideas with a practical edge. She even shared a series of 3 Instagram posts showing a glimpse of their adorable pets.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s quieter about it, but you can tell he’s all in. Those donkeys are a team effort. We bet he’s out there, scratching their ears, maybe even naming them after old racing buddies. Amy’s St. Patrick’s Day photo earlier this year of her with Isla in green, beaming showed how much family means to her. Now, she’s blending that love with this animal adventure. Swans, peacocks, goats she’s got big ideas, and nobody can blame her.
This is more than donkeys, it’s Amy and Dale finding their groove off the track. Amy’s dreams of goats, a barn, and maybe peacocks strutting around. Peacocks sound tempting bold but calm. Let’s how good a pets their donkey turn out that they’ve named after racers.
Kenny Wallace can’t stop laughing at Dale Jr. and Amy’s hilarious challenge
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Amy Earnhardt tackling the Whisper Challenge is a laugh-out-loud moment. You know, that game where you guess what someone’s saying while wearing headphones blasting music? Well, Kenny Wallace caught it all on video, and his reaction is priceless.
Dale kicks it off, shouting, “B—— are great,” then “B—— are crazy,” referring to bosoms. And Amy’s laugh lights up the screen. It’s silly, it’s sweet, and it’s them. NASCAR vet turned analyst Kenny Wallace, shared it with pure joy. “LOL . These two make me laugh” he wrote. You can feel his delight he’s practically in splits watching them stumble through the game. He had earlier also talked about their pillow talk which even made his co-anchor embarrassed.
Dale Jr. and Amy’s playfulness cuts through the sport’s intensity. They are the perfect antidote to the not-so-romantic generation of our times.
