“It hurts. This season was a dream, and nobody wanted it to end. We all wanted more. Detroit deserved more.” Dan Campbell’s wife, Holly Campbell shared a broken-heart graphic on Instagram with this painful message. Obviously, no one ever wondered that the Detroit Lions will exit the playoffs so brutally, despite their no. 1 seed. But it happened! It took some time to heal from the loss, but the Campbell couple is back with their off-field work.
On Tuesday, Dan Campbell’s wife shared a story on her official Instagram account announcing their huge investment. This new update featured a screenshot of a post with the headline – “Lions’ Dan Campbell, wife, and Starbucks team up to invest in Detroit youth.” Now half of the story you might have understood, but let us explain the rest to you.
According to the reports, Dan Campbell and his wife have collaborated with $126.88 billion brand, Starbucks. Now it’s not just a random commercial tie up, it’s actually a philanthropic work by them for the Detroit community.
No doubt, Dan Campbell and his wife have embraced the city not just as a team, but as a family. And recently, they proved in a big way, as shared in Holly’s story. Through this partnership with Starbucks, the couple donated $25,000 to the Downtown Boxing Gym (DBG), a non-profit organization for changing the lives of youth.
This DBG isn’t just a gym. It’s a safe space where kids find mentorship, tutoring, and a real crack at a better future. That’s why Dan Campbell’s wife loved the platform, as it’s also evident in what DBG Executive Director Jessica Hauser said – “She really just fell in love with the fact that she said she walked around and could tell every young person was happy to be there, engaged with what they were doing. Adults were genuinely engaging with the kids. And then, as she learned more and more about the work we were doing — the fact that we try to address every possible need and close every gap that might be in front of a family — it just made sense. From that point on, it’s been about building the relationship, engaging to see how to help support DBG’s future growth plans. And yeah, we’re just building from there.”
So, now Dan Campbell and his wife have come up with Starbucks to support the organisation and the youth overall. But you know what this donation revelation with the brand is another interesting story!
Dan Campbell and Holly’s interesting announcement!
Holly Campbell first connected with DBG during a coat drive and was deeply moved by their work. So, when Starbucks approached her for an ad campaign, Dan Campbell’s wife saw an opportunity. Dan Campbell’s wife filmed at DBG. But what seemed like a simple shoot turned into a surprise – Holly handed DBG leaders a Starbucks cup revealing the donation, leaving everybody there in surprise. But wait, Campbell’s generosity didn’t stop there.
Earlier, Dan Campbell and Holly teamed up with Kathy Agnew, the wife of Lions’s assistant GM Ray Agnew. Together they donated 12 tickets to the Lions’s playoff game, raising over $15000 for DBG. With a growing waitlist of 2000 kids, every bit of support brings them closer to expansion.
For DBG, this wasn’t about money. It was about belief, which Holly and Dan Campbell gave them. And that’s what real community looks like!
