Dana White Gets Unexpected Challenger for Alexandre Pantoja as Uzbekistan Fighter Stuns at UFC Vegas 103

The flyweight division should be on high alert, as a new force is making its way to the top—and it has no plans of slowing down. Uzbekistani fighter Ramazonbek Temirov is closing the gap between himself and the division’s elite, securing a unanimous decision victory over veteran Charles Johnson at UFC Vegas 103. With this win, Temirov has firmly established himself as a serious contender in the flyweight ranks. Now, he has a request for UFC CEO Dana White.

While having a conversation at the UFC post-fight press conference, the Uzbek fighter not only called out Kai Kara France and Brandon Moreno but also took shots at the flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja, “Hey Dana, inshallah, I will be champion. I will cleanse the division. Kai Kara-France, Brandon Moreno, Pantoja—no problem. Inshallah, I’m a champion, inshallah. I’m ready. I’m Uzbek.”

“Dana, I will be the champion. I will clear the division.”

Going into the fight at UFC Vegas 103, Temirov was the underdog as his opponent, Johnson, was riding on a four-fight winning streak. However, the underdog status did help ‘Temurlane’ to focus on the clash, throwing clean shots in round 1 with sharp jabs and kicks. Temirov made sure that Johnson struggled to connect despite a flashy front kick.

In Round 2, Johnson increased his pressure, controlling the clinch and landing a key elbow on the break to even the fight. The second round clearly belonged to Johnson. However, as the bell for the final round rang, Temirov increased his pace, and no matter how much Johnson tried, he failed to keep up.
