Days After His Arrest, Hailie Deegan’s Brother Embroiled in Another Physical Altercation

“Controversy…just builds character.” Haiden Deegan’s words in 2024 may have been inspirational after overcoming a bunch of mishaps. But this overarching confidence may have tipped over the edge in 2025. The seasoned Supercross rider kicked off the season on a high note, winning an Arlington race, finishing runner-up in Glendale, and clinching a third-place result in Indianapolis. But when things spiraled, they spiraled badly.

Haiden Deegan, Hailie Deegan’s brother, scraped with federal law last week. He broke street racing and stunt racing laws and got himself arrested in Walton County, Florida. But the controversy storm did not end there, as the bike rider locked horns with a rival in a race.

Well, Hailie Deegan’s brother has a penchant for ticking off rivals. In 2023, Haiden Deegan collided with Seth Hammaker in Alabama and deprived both of any winning chances. Then, another collision with Coty Schock landed the latter with a broken collarbone. These controversies seemed to die down in 2024, a year when Haiden’s sister got into trouble. Hailie fell out with her NASCAR Xfinity Series team, AM Racing, and turned over a fresh leaf in IndyCar. Just when it looked like the Deegan family was in a fuzzy place, Haiden landed himself in trouble yet again. He was illegally doing donuts with a grey sports car in Florida, which landed him a $1,000 cash / professional bond.

That was not all – the Monster Energy Supercross 250 West divisional race saw Haiden Deegan clashing with Julien Beaumer. After riding through a heated contest for third on lap 18, Deegan tried turning into Beaumer’s bike, visibly showing that he was angry. This anger stemmed from Beaumer posting Walton County’s booking information that had Deegan’s address.

After the race, both parked side-by-side and entered an altercation, with Deegan slapping Beaumer’s helmet. Deegan said post-race, “He grabbed my helmet first and I was like, ‘Hey, don’t touch me,’ but it is what it is. It’s racing. Someone said he’s going to get payback or whatever. We’ll see.”

The Deegan family is renowned in motorsports. Brian Deegan is a decorated Supercross rider and his children are continuing his automotive interests. So Haiden Deegan was ticked off that his rival potentially threatened his family by divulging personal information.

“Everyone knows what happened to me these last two weeks. He, JuJu went out of his own hands to post on his story that had my address and stuff. And now you’re talking about my family, putting my family in danger and that’s a whole ‘nother scene so I just told him, ‘Don’t do that, Dude. It ain’t cool,’ and he obviously lit back but we’ll see what happens from here on out.”

This nasty confrontation must have left a bitter taste in Deegan’s mouth. However, Hailie Deegan’s brother received a note of appreciation from his catchers.

His good demeanor shone through the chaos

Well, of course, Haiden Deegan’s history of aggression is undeniable. Yet, law enforcement officials found his behavior up to the mark. In Florida, the law bans street takeovers, unsanctioned drag racing, drifting, wheelies, burnouts, and donuts. A first offense is punishable by up to a year in jail, a fine of $2,000, and a one-year driver’s license suspension. Law enforcement officials charged Deegan with a misdemeanor crime as he was doing burnouts at the Walton Sports Complex. What was even worse was that Deegan was carrying fake driver’s licenses, including one that had a false birth year indicating that he was 21.

However, Hailie Deegan‘s little brother got away because of his good behavior. Public Information Officer Corey Dobridnia said so in a statement: “It should be noted the Deputy expressed to me that Haiden was respectful during the entire encounter. That is part of the reason he was not charged with having the fake IDs – which is a felony in Florida.” Haiden Deegan also added to this light mood, posting his mugshot on Instagram with a hilarious caption. He wrote “Certified stunt driver [crying emoji]” set to the song Bad Boys by Inner Circle. He also shared an image of himself photoshopped in front of a jail cell while lounging on the couch and wrote, “we vibin in cellblock 1.”

Apparently, Haiden Deegan did not let things get too bad in the past week. Hopefully, he will be able to settle things peacefully with his rival and look ahead to spectacular racing trophies.
