Diego Lopes has a habit of changing things up when it comes to choosing his walkout songs. Back at UFC 303, when he fought Dan Ige on just 2 hours’ notice, he walked out to ‘Devastated’ by Joey Bada$$ blaring out of the speakers. Before that, Lopes chose the tunes of ‘Por Mi Mexico’ by SM Left as his walkout song for UFC 295. And for his fight against Alexander Volkanovski, the Brazilian seems ready with a new walkout song.
Not too long ago, the famed musician and former JRE guest, Steve Aoki, took to social media and shared a video with the fighting community. In the video, he revealed what the #3 featherweight contender had chosen to walk out to at UFC 314. He said, “What’s up UFC fans? This is Steve Aoki. I’ve got exciting news for you. This Saturday, UFC 314, my good friend and brother, Diego Lopes, will be walking out to my remix for the main event fight. I couldn’t be more honored. This is going to be an incredible fight. This card is already insane. Dana White always puts it together. And you know it’s gonna end in a highlight real finish. So let’s rally our support for our boy, Diego! Let’s go, Diego!” However, he didn’t reveal the name of his remix.
Nevertheless, UFC’s official Instagram account soon shared the video on their profile, and UFC Español’s IG profile followed suit. Being prompt in Spanish, Lopes dropped to the comments section of the latter’s post and punched in two emojis. “ .” And that was a moment when Aoki revealed his speculation for the main event in the comments section. He wrote, “Diego for the win!!! Let’s gooooo.”
But do you know that UFC 314 wouldn’t be Lopes’ first gig with Steve Aoki? Let’s take a look at the disco jockey’s previous interaction with the #3-ranked featherweight contender, shall we?
Diego Lopes once got on stage with Steve Aoki
Back in November 2024, the 30-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist joined the DJ during his Guadalajara tour stop. If you haven’t noticed already, Guadalajara is the place where the Lobo Gym is located. Even though Lopes hails from Brazil, this Mexican locality has now become his new home. And getting to join Aoki during his concert was nothing short of a phenomenal experience for the featherweight star.
He shared glimpses of the moment on his Instagram profile. One of these posts showed the duo posing together, with the caption reading, “What an incredible experience last night. Thanks for the invitation @steveaoki , for all the attention and good vibes with me and my team. See you soon .” But the thing that garnered a lot more attention was the video of Lopes throwing a huge cake at the fans.
And now, the Brazilian is all set to throw fists instead of cakes. Do you think the remix by Aoki can raise the hype around the main event for UFC 314? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
