It seems like the Dodgers are going through some problems recently! The undisputed champions made their way to win the World Series title, and now they have developed a roster that’s going to be repeated in 2025 as well. But they aren’t good with numbers, and that’s the reason the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to make some changes by trading players, as assumed by an MLB analyst.
The Dodgers wanted to increase the depth of their pitching options, so they have been very aggressive during the offseason. They have a strong starting rotation consisting of Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow. They have also got Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May, but the “numbers problem” seems to get repeated, which is quite alarming for the Dodgers, isn’t it?
Maybe! The Los Angeles Dodgers have been reluctant to trade their depth starters; however, it may be necessary for their own good. On March 2, during the Foul Territory episode, MLB analyst Ken Rosenthal said, “What are they gonna do with all these guys? How are they going to pitch, and that might prompt them to do something at some point?” It’s true, as the Dodgers have already got a good number of pitchers, and stashing players like Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin isn’t what they will likely do.
“They’ve got a numbers problem.”

Rosenthal even stated, “They have got a number problem. And the numbers problem will indicate to me, at some point, yes, they would have to entertain things, but they also have an issue, the Japanese players, Sasaki and Yamamoto, and Ohtani as well, once he starts pitching.” So yes, the Dodgers have got pitchers in abundance. “Their pitchers, let’s face it, have gotten hurt over the years; it’s been a repeated problem for them.” While they could resist trading some of their pitchers due to the repeated problems, there might be a situation where the Dodgers might have to make the changes. Trading some of them might give them an opportunity to play while also allowing them to go through a revamp, which would be necessary for the upcoming times.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to trade one of their pitchers. Who is it?
Dave Roberts may likely make some tough calls regarding trade
The 2025 Tokyo Series has finally ended with the Los Angeles Dodgers winning against the Chicago Cubs. As expected, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki did quite well, with the Dodgers dominating the game and going 6-3. However, as there’s no end to the talent in the Dodgers’ lineup, they are looking to trade a young pitcher named Bobby Miller. But what is the reason for doing so?
Well, the 25-year-old pitcher hasn’t been in the greatest of forms, as he struggled with an 8.52 ERA in 133 starts, despite having a good rookie season. He failed to capitalize on his performance, and it took a major dip. With some great pitchers already in the lineup and now, Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May making their way into the roster, it seems like they are going to trade him soon. Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts feels that their roster boasts of some impressive talents with everyone trying to play, and with Miller showing little improvement even after moving to Triple-A, changes are bleak for him to be on the Dodgers roster.
