‘Don’t Want the F*cking Skirt’: LPGA Pro Reveals Damning Wardrobe Malfunction at Solheim Cup That Drove Her Crazy

Sarah Schmelzel had a thrilling Solheim Cup Sunday last year, despite some pre-game drama. The U.S. team, which she was a part of, beat Europe 15.512.5 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. Schmelzel finished with a 22 record and earned two points for her team. Her Sunday singles match against Madelene Sagstrom was intense, with Schmelzel recalling, “I was so amped up… My highs were so high this day.” She was 2 down early but managed to tie it up, only to lose the 8th hole.

Speaking on Golf Subpar’s latest Instagram video, Sarah Schmelzel shared a hilarious story about a wardrobe malfunction that added to her frustration during the match. After losing the 8th hole, Schmelzel made a quick restroom break and discovered her skirt’s zipper was broken. “I’m fuming, right?” she said. “I’m like, f**king the skirt. I lost the hole, so I’m 2 down again.” She asked her caddie, Pat Hurst, “Can we get another skirt out here?” and threw on rain pants in the 87-degree heat. Schmelzel’s frustration turned to amusement as she recounted how she declined a pair of pants on the 10th hole, saying “I don’t want pants. I want my skirt,” only to later decline a new skirt on the 11th hole, saying “I don’t want the f**king skirt; I’m gaming right now!”

Schmelzel eventually won the 10th hole, and on the next hole, someone brought her a new skirt. However, she was on a roll and didn’t want to change, joking about the rain pants clinging to her body. She said, “Give me the skirt. The rain pants are like clinging to my body. I was so fired up, I was convinced that if I took these rain pants off, I wasn’t going to keep winning holes.

Despite the setback, Schmelzel’s team won, and she had a strong Solheim Cup debut, although she ultimately lost her singles match 1 up to Sagstrom. Well, this incident with Schmelzel isn’t the first of its kind.

Nelly Korda’s outfit went wrong after a multi-million dollar deal

In 2023, Nelly Korda, the talented LPGA star, found herself in a fashion fiasco. After signing multi-million dollar deals with Nike and TaylorMade, Korda appeared in a promotional video for TaylorMade’s Stealth 2 driver. However, her outfit choice sparked controversy – she wore a black Nike top, orange pants, and red Nike Jordan One shoes. The bold color combination didn’t go unnoticed, and fans were quick to react.

Korda shared the video on her Instagram story, but soon followed up with a second story expressing her regret. “Don’t hate me for my Orange pants and red shoes,” she wrote. “It was a bit of a wardrobe malfunction.” Fans took to the comments section, poking fun at her outfit and even dubbing her “Nelly Fowler” due to the resemblance to Rickie Fowler’s signature orange look. One fan commented, “Orange pants with red shoes? Bruh for real?” It was clear that Korda’s fashion choice hadn’t quite paid off. Do you remember any wardrobe malfunctions in the game of golf?
