Who knew one rebound could give an entire fanbase a heart attack? In the dying embers of a closely contested first half against Georgia Tech, Cooper Flagg went up for a defensive rebound and rolled his ankle as he landed. It was a harrowing experience for the Cameron Crazies, as photos of him being rolled out on a wheelchair were being circulated.
However, Duke fans have nothing to worry about! Jon Scheyer addressed the media after the Blue Devils won the ACC Tournament quarterfinals with some positive news.
The Duke head coach talked about Maliq Brown and his injured shoulder before quickly pivoting to Cooper Flagg’s situation. “Cooper, he just came down and sprained his ankle. X-rays were negative which is great. We just have to understand that there will be swelling, and to see how he recovers, and how he goes from there.” So, Blue Devils fans, you can sleep easy tonight! It seems like Cooper Flagg can’t be counted out so soon.
