Every year, millions get their paperwork sorted to pay a chunk of their earnings to the government. This age-old phenomenon is called ‘taxes’. UFC commentator-cum-podcast host Joe Rogan recently expressed being intrigued by this system and posed a significant question to ordinary people: Why? During a recent conversation with standup comic Ron White, Rogan painted a pretty worrying picture regarding taxes, prompting billionaire Elon Musk to issue a response.
Joe Rogan doesn’t shy away from discussing pressing issues on his multi-million-dollar podcast. That’s why his show averages tens of millions of viewers as it draws people to give him a listen. When he brought up the topic of taxes, he wondered where the whole amount of money collected from every working citizen went. Moreover, he revealed that Elon Musk has some pretty interesting information in hand about the whole process that goes around.
On the #2302 JRE episode, a curious Joe Rogan stated, “What’s really crazy to me is when the people say the rich are paying more taxes. But where do you think that’s going? Where is the money going? Is the money going to the federal government? Do you think they are good at it? Do you think they’re good at managing your money if you paid attention to all the s–t Elon’s f—ing uncovered?”
For the unversed, President Donald Trump bestowed Musk with the position of the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) late last year. Although he’s likely to step down from the role soon, this job might have allowed him to get into the nitty gritty of the issue Joe Rogan is talking about. However, the 57-year-old didn’t really specify what revelations the Tesla CEO has made.
Meanwhile, Rogan has never been in controversy for any tax-related issues like some of the other celebrities have. He doesn’t seem to have a problem with that. However, he seemed pretty convinced that almost everybody who dealt with the amount of money collected from taxes wasn’t doing the work that they should be doing.
“I’m happy to pay tax if I thought that they were doing a great job. But it’s just that you are being strong-armed into giving money to people that do a really s—-y job of protecting your money and investing it in the country,” Joe Rogan added. “A lot of it is going to bureaucracy and bulls–t. And a bunch of things that you don’t have any say in.”
Hearing what Joe Rogan had to say, Elon Musk shared a tweet that instantly went viral. With the UFC personality dropping some serious bombs, and the fact that the Tesla CEO has some inside information about the tax system, Musk revealed that he’s looking to find more information shortly. “Just the tip of the iceberg so far,” the billionaire posted on X.

Well, Joe Rogan also mentioned a scenario where people would have decided how their taxes were going to be used. Unfortunately, the reality is always the opposite. Meanwhile, Elon Musk started his crackdown on how the tax money gets used last year, when the elections were in full swing. He even partnered with the Republican Party’s Vivek Ramaswamy, and they made some serious revelations.

After the news about DOGE’s establishment came to light, Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk partnered together to reveal that almost $549,000 was being given to a Russian lab to run strange experiments on cats. If that’s not shocking enough, they also reported that the federal government was sending money to Ecuador to fund drag shows. But perhaps the most shocking revelation was that the government invested $33 million every year to run South Carolina’s ‘Monkey Island’.
“If it doesn’t advance the interests of American citizens, we’re putting it on the chopping block. Amazingly, there are a number of programs whose authorization from Congress has *already expired* yet $$$ still flows out the door. That needs to end next year,” Vivek Ramaswamy stated while revealing that some programs, which have long been over, are still squeezing out funds from the federal government.
