ESPN Analyst Announces Jalen Milroe’s $7.3B Future After Browns GM Andrew Berry’s Surprising Lamar Jackson Admission

Jalen Milroe is the classic quarterback paradox—part rocket launcher, part rollercoaster. On one play, he looks like he was engineered in a lab. A cannon for an arm, a magician’s touch as a runner, and the kind of pocket mobility that makes even seasoned defenders look helpless. Then comes the very next snap, where he drifts too deep into his drop, forgets his internal clock, and either sails a throw or walks himself into a sack. Inconsistency defines him just as much as jaw-dropping talent does. Still, with two billion-dollar franchises eyeing QB futures. Milroe’s boom-or-bust label is starting to sound more like “booming with the right architect.”

That’s why ESPN’s Mina Kimes didn’t hold back in her evaluation. On-air, she made her case for Jalen Milroe’s potential by using a term the New York Giants front office will both fear and salivate over: “lottery ticket.” She didn’t mince words. “To me, Jalen Milroe is a lottery ticket, right? He’s got the strongest arm of any quarterback in the draft. He’s one of the best natural runners I’ve ever seen at the position,” she said. “And I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic. It’s not just straight-line speed. He has the agility and vision as a runner that I would put up there with your Lamar Jacksons of the world.”

Those are no small comparisons. And yet, she added the important asterisk that keeps scouts awake at night. “But the problem is, just inconsistency, issues with accuracy, and some decision-making,” Kimes explained. “And that’s what makes this a lottery ticket, because the belief that you can develop those things requires, well, just that—a lot of belief.” His ceiling is skyscraper-level, and his floor might be the practice squad. But where belief meets structure, there may be a perfect fit. And that’s where the $7.3 billion NFL franchise comes in…

“For a team like New York that already has veteran quarterbacks in the building and could be pursuing a high-upside option, it does make sense to me. And I think that would be an excellent landing spot for him.”

Enter Giants GM Joe Schoen, who’s quietly done his homework while reshaping the quarterback room. He’s brought in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston as veteran stopgaps, giving the New York Giants breathing room to roll the dice on someone like Jalen Milroe without forcing him into the fire. “So, yeah, it doesn’t have to be, ‘This guy has got to be a starter,’” Schoen said. “To sign a guy with upside at that position that can develop and maybe win you games, or maybe they develop into a No. 1, you’re always looking at those scenarios.”

It’s a strategic hedge. Schoen has reportedly scouted Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Louisville’s Tyler Shough. But when it comes to athleticism, Milroe towers above. The idea that New York may even rate Milroe higher than Shedeur Sanders in terms of long-term value isn’t just a surprise. It’s borderline shocking. But that’s where the league is now.

Even Browns GM Andrew Berry joined the echo chamber recently, offering an unexpected nugget when asked about the Lamar Jackson archetype. LJ has become the blueprint for dual-threat impact. Jalen Milroe, while not as polished or proven, has similar traits that make defensive coordinators nervous.

Andrew Berry says Jalen Milroe might be faster than Lamar

Hold up—did someone say faster than Lamar Jackson? Yep. That’s exactly what Browns GM Andrew Berry is hinting at when talking about Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, and it definitely turned some heads.

During a recent media session, Berry couldn’t help but rave about Milroe’s athleticism and rare tools: “Jalen, he’s got rare physical talent,” Berry said. “When he gets in the NFL, he may be the only quarterback who’s faster than Lamar (Jackson). Don’t tell Lamar I said that, please.”

That’s not a throwaway line either. Berry continued the Milroe hype train, praising his unique build and abilities: “He’s got rare physical gifts,” he added. “He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s got a really strong arm. In any system you build around him, you want to take advantage of the fact that he has things that no other players at the position have.”

The Browns reportedly met with Milroe following the NFL Combine and Alabama’s Pro Day. Which only added more smoke to this potential fire. Could Cleveland be thinking of bringing Milroe’s lightning speed and cannon arm into the Dawg Pound?
