Everyone is Upset With ESPN’s Candid Caitlin Clark Shot at the Lakers Game

You’d think Caitlin Clark would taking it easy this offseason if she is not participating in Unrivaled, right? Well, not really. Sure, she stayed away from the 3-on-3 league but she did hit the golf course for the pro-am event. And manage to stay at the top of the headlines through with her public appearance and not to forget her jersey retirement. So yes, not exactly a low-key few months. And in the midst of all this, one thing she’s consistently done is watch basketball.

She was at it again—except this time, fans weren’t exactly thrilled about it. Clark, alongside her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, returned to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch the Pacers take on the Lakers. It was a full-circle moment considering McCaffery’s ties with the Pacers before taking on an assistant coaching role at Butler.

But while Clark was the center of attention, fans were quick to notice something else—her Fever teammate Lexie Hull and Hull’s boyfriend, Will Matthiessen, were sitting right in front of them. It was a double date. Sounds fun!

But, unfortunately, that’s not what got people talking.

Maybe she should get off her phone

Instead, what stole the show was a candid ESPN shot of Clark looking… well, bored. Scrolling through her phone, not exactly locked into the game—fans weren’t having it.

One fan commented, “Maybe she should get off her phone.” Another added, “Oh hello there. Is she texting or just scrolling through her social media feeds? Is the game that boring?”
