EXCLUSIVE: Phillies’ Top Prospect Reveals the One Advice He Wants from Bryce Harper

Just like every young talent dreams of a breakthrough moment, the same moment has come for the rising star and Phillies’ top prospect, Dylan Campbell. And who doesn’t want to play the major league alongside their favorite players or against them, right? Just like that, Campbell, Baseball America’s No. 360 draft pick in 2023, was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers for $497,500 in the same year. However, the Dodgers traded him to the Phillies for the international pool money. Think that’s a good move?

Well, the young outfielder’s addition to the Phillies can definitely help them to make it big in the 2025 season. But one thing that Campbell looks to focus on is seeking some advice from the eight-time All-Star Bryce Harper. While he has worked his way all along through hard work and commitment, suggestions from a player of Harper’s caliber can definitely help him more. Isn’t it?

As we all know, Dylan Campbell, when playing for the High-A Great Lakes as a right-swinging outfielder, managed 109 hits and 42 stolen bases, along with hitting the ball quite hard with an exit velocity around 101 mph. He even etched his name in the minor league, finishing with 10 or more homers, 40 stolen bases, and 20 doubles. That’s quite impressive, isn’t it? Surely, and now after the Phillies acquired the 23-year-old top prospect, in an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, Campbell was asked, “Bryce Harper’s been quite popular for giving tips to young players; have you encountered him? What would you ask him?” And Campbell’s answer?

“No, I have never encountered Bryce Harper before, but if I had the chance to talk to him, I would definitely talk to him about hitting. Um, I mean, he’s been an amazing hitter his whole career; he can hit for power like nobody else,” said Campbell. So, it indicates his willingness to take some advice from Harper about how to hit good, maybe even better. Campbell shares his intention to learn how to drive fastballs and how to hit with great power, which can take his performance to the next level.

While Dylan Campbell wishes to bring his versatility to the game, putting his best feet forward to leave a significant impact, there’s bad news: an injury scare for the Phillies’ superstar Bryce Harper.

Bryce Harper makes his way back to the mound amid the injury scare

It all looked like the Philadelphia Phillies landed in big trouble after their All-Star Bruce Harper got bruised in his arm during a game. While it’s quite unfortunate for the team, as Harper has been the best first baseman and outfielder for the Phillies, not having him may be worse given the record he had. He had a great record in 2024, scoring 30 home runs along with 157 hits at an average, 87 RBIs, and 85 runs scored across the 145 games. So, losing him might have been a gof.285back for the frachise; however, all’s well that ends well, isn’t it?

Bryce Harper has made his way back into the team, confirming his presence on the roster, playing in his usual spot, and hitting second during their upcoming game against the Boston Red Sox. Although no X-rays were done as it was a minor injury, Harper seemed a little bit concerned as he had previous injuries in his upper body portion, which ended up losing his spot in the team. However, nothing seems to be a worry now, as the two-time National League MVP has finally come back to the mound and will look to start spring training soon.
