That was a scary moment for Greg Norman. The former PGA Tour pro was traveling from Los Angeles to Palm Beach in a private jet when a loud pop was heard. The windscreen was shattered. The crew did not take any risks and flew back to Los Angeles, where a team of first responders checked on them.
The Australian later posted on social media with pictures about the harrowing experience, including the shattered windscreen and a photo with the first responders who arrived on the scene. “Inflight LAX – PBI loud pop = shattered windscreen. Only the second time in 40yrs of private travel. Returned to LAX to the professionals to make sure all ok. Thanks all.” His caption on Instagram read.
Several people took to social media to share their messages. Many users were very glad that no harm came to anyone on the plane. With one user stating, “Wow, scary stuff. Glad he and the crew are ok!”
The incident was very similar to Payne Stewart’s accident in 1999. The golfer was traveling on a chartered flight from Orlando to Dallas. However, sudden loss of cabin pressure caused hypoxia amongst all people on board, incapacitating them. This eventually led the plane to crash in a field in South Dakota, leading to the death of all 4 passengers and 2 crew members. “Holy cow… glad everyone is okay. Payne Stewart flashback.” One user reminded them that it could have been worse.
This is a developing story..
