This season has been an absolute rollercoaster for the Indiana Fever. From surprising exits to unexpected setbacks, predicting what comes next has become nearly impossible. Did you foresee DeWanna Bonner leaving? No one did! Who would have thought that Caitlin Clark, who had never missed a single game in her career due to an injury till May 2025, would be out for 8 games already? It’s been a season full of twists, but despite the ups and downs, the Fever fans aren’t giving up on their team! And why would they?
Last night, against all the odds, the Indiana Fever pulled off a stunning win to claim their first-ever WNBA Commissioner’s Cup title, defeating the best team in the division, the Minnesota Lynx, 74-59. The locker room quickly turned into a big party house after the game! Champagne bottles popped, and players went live on social media to celebrate with the fans. And the highlight of last night’s celebration was Clark implying that the whole league was sick of them celebrating the win. “Guys, I just know everybody in the league is sick,” she said.
It was a night to remember for all the parties involved. But the fans? It left them wanting even more. So, what’s next on their wish list? Well, when the Underdog WNBA page on X shared a stat about Commissioner’s Cup winners since its 2021 debut, one detail stood out. Only one team has won both the Commissioner’s Cup and the WNBA in the same season. They were Becky Hammon’s 2022 Las Vegas side. Now, you can imagine what the Fever fans want, right?
Commissioner’s Cup winners:
2025 – Indiana Fever
2024 – Minnesota Lynx
2023 – New York Liberty
2022 – Las Vegas Aces
2021 – Seattle Storm
Aces are the only team to win the Commissioner’s Cup Championship and the WNBA Finals in the same season.

The Fever fans are currently riding on an emotional high, and you can tell! “And Indiana is going to follow suit. They are winning it all this year. Mark this tweet ,” one fan commented, which effectively confirms the collective feeling that Indiana will win the league this year. Well, as long as they don’t face a similar fate as the men’s team did, they will be fine, right?
Social media was flooded with similar takes and bold predictions from the Fever fans. Let’s take a look at some more of these reactions.
Fans make a bold prediction about the Indiana Fever following the Cup win
“Fever can do it too,” one fan commented. And they were duly supported by others who joined in to say, “Fever will be second.” Now, there’s no denying the fact that the Fever have the potential to win the championship down the line. Players like Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, alongside Caitlin Clark signify a strong core for the Fever going forward. But when it comes to contending for a championship right now? That might be a stretch.
DeWanna Bonner was supposed to be the veteran X-factor to help this young group contend for the titles right away. But she is already gone. The Fever have gone 8-8 to start the season. Far from ideal. And to make matters worse, Clark has missed 8 games already. While one fan does say, “Fever doesn’t need Clark,” that is just them being reactionary.

Yes, they beat a dominant Lynx squad without her in the Commissioner’s Cup final–but the record without Clark says it all. In the 8 games Clark hasn’t played this season, the Indiana Fever have only won 4 of them. That doesn’t suggest that the Fever don’t need Clark, does it?
On top of that, the Las Vegas Aces had lost a total of 10 games in the entirety of their double-winning season. In comparison, the Fever have already lost 8. That is how mighty the Aces were during the 2022 season. “The Aces set the gold standard. That 2022 double was dominance at its finest ,” one fan said.
Their dominance continued next season as well. They would go on to win the championship once again and reach the finals of the Commissioner’s Cup. Can the Fever side replicate the same amount of success with their current squad? Remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on the prediction made by the fans?
