Fans Stunned by Minnesota Lynx HC’s Dance Moves as Studbudz Unites Entire WNBA Community

Cheryl Reeve is as tough as you are going to get. She has challenged referees and called the 2024 WNBA title “stolen from them” due to, yup, “incredibly disappointing officiating.” Reeve has gone head-to-head with other coaches, not just tactically but in actual fights on the court. The Lynx head coach has even confronted the Sun players near their locker room last year during their series, and arena security needed to get involved to defuse the scene.

Needless to say, Cheryl Reeve is the real deal. She has led the Minnesota Lynx to the top of the standings this season, focused on avenging last year’s title. But behind her fierce sideline presence is a coach who deeply connects with her players. And it was on full display tonight.

Before Game 1 of the biggest series of their careers, the lights unexpectedly went out during shootaround, and music started playing. For a moment, the team froze, unsure how Reeve would respond. Then Courtney Williams started to dance. Reeve joined her, and soon Natisha Hiedeman followed.

With one smooth step, the tension disappeared. It was a reminder of what sets Reeve apart; she leads with intensity, but never forgets the people she’s leading. “I mean, there wasn’t anything else we could do,” Williams said. “The lights were out, music was loud. Just making fun of the moment, that’s all.”  And now the dancing trio has reunited again. Cheryl Reeve was seen doing the Shmoney with the ‘StudBudz’ at the WNBA All-Star Orange Carpet. She was pulling off the moves seamlessly with Williams and Hiedman.

Needless to say, the WNBA Community has gone absolutely wild watching Reeve! Who knew the WNBA’s fiercest coach had dance moves that could stop time — and the timeline?

Fans left in awe after Cheryl Reeve’s incredible Shmoney

It’s not every day you see one of the WNBA’s beloved coaches in a casual setting, and that’s what the ‘StudBudz’ brought their audience. They are streaming their entire WNBA All-Star experience, including the orange carpet and the party behind the scenes. Right from Caitlin Clark’s entry with her brother, and the said brother calling out the WNBA refs to Cheryl Reeves’ dancing, we have seen it all on their stream, and the fans are having the most fun.

“No, they’re having a BLAST!” said one fan, and they weren’t wrong. Watching Cheryl Reeve, who is at the All-Star Weekend for coaching Team Collier for Saturday’s game, go from fiery sideline general to full-on dance partner has fans eating it up. It’s the same coach who demands perfection mid-game, now vibing with the very players she’s usually barking at. The shift is electric. On the court, she’s intense. Off the court, she’s all in on the joy. And the fans? They’re here for every second of it.

This next fan wholeheartedly agreed with the OG X user who shared the fun video, stating, definitely wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card [emojis],” followed by an ‘Oh my God’ GIF.

Another fan lamented that he can’t watch every second of the WNBA stars letting loose, writing, “I can’t stay on a stream constantly, but I appreciate these clips Court and T are a vibe!!” The “StudBudz” have been the poster girls of unfiltered. Even while saying things on their stream, they haven’t thought twice. Even when one of their quotes had a blowback. “You ain’t beat Chicago?” Courtney asked DiJonai Carrington, and the Sky put that as their caption after beating the Minnesota Lynx, marking an iconic troll moment.

Another fan brought back the 2024 finals memories, writing, “This still counts a win for NY,” trolling the coach with a callback to her rant on losing the finals and trolling her with the fact that NY still won that game. There are some sour memories of all three dancers and NY, and they are out for revenge. The Lynx are 20-4 after 24 games, being the best team in the league, while the Liberty are clearly the second-best with a 15-6 record.

Another fan called for Liberty coach Sandy Brondello to dance with her players, writing, “Sandy next.” And it only makes sense. Both All-Star coaches joining the fun would be a full-circle moment. Brondello is known for being a bit harder to crack than Cheryl Reeve. Or at least, that’s what we thought. Last year, she surprised everyone by admitting she hit the griddy with the team after a win over the Aces. So if Brondello can pull off the griddy, the Shmoney might just be next.

The WNBA All-Star festivities have given fans more than highlight plays and stat lines; they’ve delivered personality, connection, and pure joy. Cheryl Reeve hitting the Shmoney with her players and the ‘StudBudz’ wasn’t just a viral moment; it was a symbol of how the league continues to grow through authenticity and community. From sideline intensity to dance floor energy, Reeve showed what leadership can look like when it embraces both grit and joy.
