WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has never seen eye to eye with former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney. And per Davis’ latest take on Haney’s lawsuit against 26-year-old Ryan Garcia, ‘The Dream’s image seems to have fallen further in Davis’ eyes. Back in April last year, ‘King Ry’ and Haney fought in New York.
In one of the biggest upsets of 2024, the Victorville native destroyed Haney. Garcia dropped the 26-year-old three times en route to a majority decision victory. However, days after the fight, a report from VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) revealed that Garcia had tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine on the day of the fight.
This led to Garcia getting suspended from boxing for a year and fined his purse for the fight. The decision itself was overturned to a no-contest. But things got worse for Garcia when Haney filed a lawsuit against the Victorville native in September in the U.S. District Court in New York seeking damages for battery, fraud, and breach of contract.
During an interview with ‘Mr Jay Hill Network,’ Davis was pressed about his thoughts on Haney’s lawsuit against Garcia. Davis, who has had a long-standing beef with Haney and his father, didn’t miss a beat, as he responded with three words. “He a b**ch,” Gervonta Davis said during the interview.

But hold on, this is not the end of the story!
Gervonta Davis’ reaction aside, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney reached a settlement
According to a January report by Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney jointly asked the court to pause proceedings surrounding Haney’s lawsuit against Garcia because they have reached a tentative settlement. Per their settlement, Haney dropped the lawsuit with the condition that Garcia would fight him in a rematch in October.

This was also confirmed when both Haney and Garcia signed fight deals with the Saudi Boxing Chief Turki Alalshikh. Garcia will first fight Rolly Romero in May, with Haney facing Jose Ramirez on the undercard of the event, which will lead to their fight in October. With all this drama surrounding the rematch, the bout has already garnered massive attention.
That said, Gervonta Davis really doesn’t seem to like Devin Haney, so much so that he explained Haney’s lawsuit in just three words. But do you think if Haney loses again, he will try to scurry out of it again?
