Prediction: Can the Valks Bounce Back Against Chicago?
Golden State has been sneaky solid at home this season, sitting at 5-3. When it comes to games decided by 10 or more points, they’re 3-3. Meanwhile, Chicago’s road games haven’t been their thing. They’re just 2-6 away from home. Still, you can’t sleep on the Sky. They just beat the Sparks 97-86, and they had three starters in double figures.
On the other hand, Golden State fell just short against the Liberty, losing by three. Even then, they had three starters scoring double digits, and Kate Martin came off the bench and dropped 21. Now, for Sky, Cardoso is out, but, thankfully, the Sky have Elizabeth Williams, an 11-year vet. In her last start, she put up 14 points in the first half playing just nine minutes in that stretch. The Valks, on the other hand, are juggling some missing pieces too thanks to overseas commitments, but they’ve managed to stay competitive. And when it comes to numbers? Chicago’s shooting 42.3% from the field this season, which is actually better than what Golden State typically allows. So don’t be surprised if this turns into a back-and-forth scoring fest.
