Grant Holloway Receives Fiery Challenge From 22-Year-Old Star Amid Concerning Update About Track and Field Future

Is Grant Holloway showing up in the Miami edition of Grand Slam Track? No. His name isn’t there. Rather, last weekend, Grant had to face a heartbreak as he finished last in the men’s 110m hurdle event in the Xiamen Diamond League. Before that, he was defeated by Trey Cunningham at the Tom Jones Memorial. So two back-to-back defeats for him after completing his three-peat in the World Athletics Indoor Championships in March. Sounds dramatic, no? But more recently, there has been another drama that has found a place in his track story. This time, it was from a 22-year-old Australian-born French athlete.

Grant Holloway wasn’t there in the inaugural edition of Grand Slam Track. However, there was Sasha Zhoya, who set the stage on fire. In the Jamaican chapter, he took the top podium in the men’s 100m event, whereas in the men’s 110m hurdles, he took the runner-up medal. Ultimately, he pocketed the $100k award, becoming the Slam champion. But on social media, Grant claimed himself as the real Slam Champion because of his achievements in the Olympics and global championships. Has Sasha taken it up lightly?

Well, a BIG NO. In the pre-event press conference of the GST Miami edition, Sasha made his mindset clear. While challenging Grant, he said, I will say the last time we did race on the hurdles, I was in front. So I’ll invite him to come do a slam. If he wants to come do a slam, I think we all want to see him race. And Grant, come race a slam. Let’s see if you are the real slam champ.”

The report is developing…
