Hailee Steinfeld is not just Bills QB Josh Allen’s fiancée. For years, she has been forging her own identity. And she has been doing it with the grace a little uncommon for a star of her caliber. She’s been under the bright lights ever since she was 14. And she has been navigating fame with utmost perfection since then. Being in a serious relationship with an NFL quarterback has its own headlines, not to mention her own Hollywood glam. But apart from all of these, she has a quiet little corner of the internet all to herself. Where she opens up about life, has real conversations with people, and even gives some serious advice at times. We’re talking about her dream project, Beau Society.
Back in 2024, when Hailee Steinfeld started the Beau Society project, she had a simple mission. “I created it because I wanted a way to communicate and connect with people who have been following me since the very beginning, sort of away from social media.” And a year later, that mission is still going strong, and winning the hearts of millions along the way. And when she shared a heartfelt confession on her latest newsletter, we got to see a new side of her. It’s quite safe to say that this confession has won over even more people than ever before.
In her latest newsletter, Hailee Steinfeld addressed a pressing issue of the day. Steinfeld wrote, “I’ve never been great about Instagram. I use it to share my work projects, not as a way to connect with people I love. For connection, it’s a dinner at a deli downtown (where I order the matzo ball soup), a long phone call, or a quick voice note.” Hailee Steinfeld has a whopping 20M+ followers on her IG handle. Her page Beau Society has also been steadily gathering fans since last year. But with this confession, she brings us a glaring reality. While more than half the world is busy chasing post likes and reel views, that’s not how Hailee takes it. And as her message continues, it only gets better with each word.
Hailee Steinfeld further wrote, “Of course, I connect with all of you here in this newsletter, and I’m grateful for that. But when I’m in survival mode or feeling sensitive, I do my best to stay off social media altogether. I know myself, and in those moments of craziness, the last thing I need to see is a friend’s trip to Cannes. I love you and can’t wait to hear about it… in person.” Every time you open social media, it’s just people getting married, people going on vacations and more. The days when we would call up our friends and tell them our happy news are far behind us. But not if Hailee can help it. Hailee’s words come as a breath of fresh air in a world stuck scrolling endlessly.
So take some time, call up that friend and ask them how their day went. Meet them and share stories about your real life, not just your reel life. That’s the message Hailee wants you to take from her newsletter. And while she gives us a peek into her thought process, her reel life does continue to gather major attention. Especially with her latest movie, Sinners.
Hailee Steinfeld’s Sinners is breaking records and challenging her
Who doesn’t like stories about vampires? That’s a rhetorical question. Fans have been excited about Hailee’s new movie Sinners, ever since it was first announced. Directed by the same guy who brought us the iconic Black Panther (Ryan Coogler), the movie also has a double role by Michael B. Jordan. The movie is already generating Oscar buzz and has a sleek 8.1 rating on IMDB. After its release on April 18th, the movie has already crossed the $300 million dollars milestone. Interestingly, it’s only the 4th movie to have done that this year. And aside from the numbers, for Hailee Steinfeld, it has left a big impact on her life.
As Hailee Steinfeld said in an interview, this movie was “unlike any role that I have ever played – This character challenged me in ways I’ve never been challenged. And in ways I don’t know I would have been able to sort of tackle and overcome had it happened any sooner in my life.” Hailee plays the role of Mary, a multi-racial woman back in the 1930s. The story’s impact has made itself known very well with Hailee. “I think it affected all of us so personally and so deeply, and I do believe that you feel that and you see that when you watch this movie.” Hailee further added, “part of my research included understanding my own family history a bit better, which I am grateful for.”
As Sinners continues to break records on the big screen, Hailee is taking it in stride. She has been super excited to be a part of this grand venture. Sharing stories and glimpses behind the scene on her IG. She’s not flaunting her success, as her latest newsletter clearly explains that. She’s just sharing a milestone that may have changed her forever.
