“He Regretted That” – Hollywood Vet Confronts Conor McGregor After Racial Attack at Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor still hates Khabib Nurmagomedov with a passion. The latest evidence of this came in last January, when ‘Mac’ fired off an n-word laden tirade at ‘The Eagle’ on X, where the Irishman took shots at his rival’s family, country, and career. Needless to say, the whole combat sports world paid attention to it, including Hollywood star and seventh-degree martial arts black belt, Michael Jai White, who was asked his opinion on the topic by DJ Vlad in their latest interview.

The ‘Blood and Bone’ star had a brief but insightful reaction to the incident. “Yeah, well, hopefully after he sobered up, he regretted that,” White quipped. Indeed, McGregor did delete that X post shortly after, but not before alarming the entire MMA community about his mental well-being.

However, despite this worrying sign, White is still hopeful that the former two-division UFC champ will come back, mostly because the sport is much more interesting and funny with McGregor in it. “I don’t care, but I don’t know, I don’t know. Man, he was a freaking comet, you know. He was hilarious, one of the funniest f—ing people I’ve ever seen, just naturally. Oh my God, man, some of the funniest s–t ever. You know, for entertainment’s sake, I hope he comes back, but I don’t know,” he added.

This was just the latest in a long line of insults traded between the Irishman and the Dagestani over the last few months. The Nurmagomedov clan took turns poking fun at McGregor’s situation with the Nikita Hand case. Before that, it was McGregor targeting Nurmagomedov over his alleged tax evasion issues in Russia.

The latest friction was after the Paul Hughes-Usman Nuragomedov fight. Hughes paid his respects to Team Khabib in a manner that seemed to belittle the Irishman. McGregor went off on Hughes, questioning his Irish identity, and that backfired royally. Amidst all this chaos, his comeback still remains in limbo.

Well, the last man who fought McGregor, who may turn out to be the person who retired ‘Mac’ does have a theory about what the Irishman is up to, and what his UFC future is.

Dustin Poirier reveals Conor McGregor’s Machiavellian plan behind promising UFC return

“I don’t know if he’s ever going to come back,” Dustin Poirier said on the ‘Outta Pocket with RGIII’ podcast. “I was his last two fights. That was years ago, and he still hasn’t fought. I just think he’s one of those guys who is addicted to the limelight. He just wants to be in the mix and in social media. Maybe he does come back, but I just think that he has an addiction to the light.”

‘The Diamond’ had fought ‘The Notorious’ twice in 2021 at UFC 257 and UFC 264. The Louisiana native won both those fights, with the Irishman breaking his leg horrifically in two at their last contest. McGregor spent the next two years rehabilitating his leg after which he was expected to be back in action since that is what the Irishman has been promising. But that has not been the case.

In fact, most, including Poirier, don’t think the former champ plans on ever fighting in the UFC again. What ‘The Diamond’ is implying with his aforementioned comments is that the Dubliner is just dangling the carrot of a UFC comeback in front of the fans and media to remain relevant and keep making headlines.

However, he also added, Look, I’d love to talk down on, talk trash on Conor, but if anybody can put it all together and come back, if he can find that passion and fire and put it together…this guy can. I’m not saying, anybody, but this guy can. He’s special.”  It’s not often we see Poirier pay a compliment to McGregor
