“I would love to [fight Sean Strickland]. The press conference might be better than the fight. I hate that guy,” said Luke Rockhold, as the former Strikeforce and UFC champion asserted that he has no interest in being viewed the same way as Sean Strickland. The veteran UFC fighter has always had his differences with the middleweight contender. Last year, Rockhold even challenged Strickland for a fight and even received a response, but nothing ever came of it. To make matters worse, the former Strikeforce champion even called Strickland a “fraud.”
While having a conversation with ‘The Schmo’ YouTube channel, Luke Rockhold doubled down on his words for Sean Strickland as he blatantly claimed that the former middleweight champion is actually a fraud, who tries to stay relevant on the internet, “I’m not a fan [of Sean], he puts on the most boring fights of all-time, he’s a fake, he’s a fraud,” said Rockhold.
He further added, “I think he’s f— acting… I’ve heard he’s got social media managers telling him what to do and telling him what to say, so yeah; try to be a little more real boy. Sean acts like ‘Oh I’ll f— go to the death’, and puts on his hillbilly, right-wing bogan attitude when he’s really just a f— b—. You ain’t gonna fight to the death, you go out there and you put it on the line the last 5 seconds of every fight.”
Sean Strickland always stays relevant in the MMA world due to his antics on the internet, and Rockhold has accused the former champion of employing managers to keep his PR afloat. Well, his conversations with Nina-Marie Daniele and his constant attendance at various podcasts might be the reason why Rockhold is accusing him of such.
Well, it must be noted that Sean Strickland has won approximately half of his fights by way of decision. However, do these simple statistics make him a boring fighter? Obviously not, but according to Rockhold, that’s what makes Strickland a fighter who puts on a boring show. Rockhold has always been bitter towards Strickland, and his closeness with Dricus Du Plessis only fuels his animosity.
According to the former Strikeforce and UFC champion, Dricus Du Plessis is more of a man than Sean Strickland considering the fact that he is much more entertaining and has finished 91% of his opponents in his MMA career, “Dricus is more of a man, so that’s what it comes down to with Sean.” It is no surprise then that Luke Rockhold is supporting ‘Stillknocks’ against Sean Strickland.

While having a conversation with the ‘Submission Radio’ Luke Rockhold doubled down on his stance and gave Dricus Du Plessis credit for defeating Strickland once again. According to the former Strikeforce champ, fans witnessed that Du Plessis doesn’t flinch even when precision striking is thrown at him.
“He was so tough. I would spar with him and train with him and he didn’t want to quit…He is just a focused, driven dude. Steady. You gotta appreciate that,” said Rockhold via Submission Radio. Never one to hold back, Rockhold didn’t mince words when discussing Du Plessis’s standout quality: his relentless mental toughness.
Rockhold believes this mindset is what truly sets Du Plessis apart from the competition. He revealed his sparring sessions with the South African back in the day and was amazed at his ability to keep going despite unfavorable odds.
