Who doesn’t love a good MrBeast video? And when there is a celebrity involved, it just doubles the fun. His latest project starred some of the biggest names in the sports world, including Stephen Curry. The idea was simple – Compete against an Average Joe and the winner takes home $100,000. But Steph was a bit taken aback when his competitor got under his skin with some early mind games.
Well, the Warriors star was facing Demarrion, the best shooter of his high school, in a three-point competition. Obviously, going against the best shooter in the world would not have gone in Demarrion’s favor. So, to make it a fair fight, MrBeast gave Steph 30 seconds to shoot as many threes as possible and Demarrion would get double the time to beat him. Before they headed to the three-point line, MrBeast asked Demarrion, “Who do you like more, Steph Curry or LeBron James?” The high school star immediately replied, “LeBron.”
Maybe, it was a strategy to get Steph off his game or a genuine response, but Demarrion’s response got under the four-time champ’s skin, as he questioned, “See he’s a Bron guy?” MrBeast even warned Demarrion to not play with fire, “Oh my God. You shouldn’t piss him off before you go against him.” Then, began the three-point contest.
Of course, Steph being Steph, hit a whopping 14 threes in merely thirty seconds. Maybe, Demarrion picking LeBron over him gave him some added motivation. When it was Demarrion’s turn to respond, he could hit only 9 threes in a minute. Thus, Steph won the contest, and along with it $100,000 for a charity of his choice. However, once the competition was over, Curry had nothing but love for the high school star, “That was phenomenal man.” Then, Steph announced the winnings would be donated to The Eat.Learn.Play Foundation.
